Senior Barista
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, beverages, and specialty drinks according to established recipes and standards.
- Maintain consistency in coffee quality, taste, presentation, and service delivery.
- Supervise daily barista operations and provide guidance to junior team members.
- Train and coach Baristas on coffee preparation techniques, beverage knowledge, and service standards.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and maintenance of coffee beans, ingredients, and equipment.
- Monitor coffee equipment performance and coordinate maintenance when required.
- Develop and recommend new beverage ideas, seasonal menus, and coffee promotions.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and hygiene standards of the coffee station and service area.
- Assist in inventory control, stock monitoring, and beverage cost management.
- Provide personalized service by engaging with guests and understanding their preferences.
- Handle guest feedback and requests professionally to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Support hotel events, functions, and special beverage requirements when required.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and hotel operational standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–4 years of experience as a Barista, preferably in a 4- or 5-star hotel, specialty coffee shop, or luxury hospitality environment.
- Strong knowledge of coffee beans, brewing methods, espresso techniques, and beverage preparation.
- Experience in training and supervising junior baristas is preferred.
- Good understanding of beverage costing, inventory control, and equipment maintenance.
- Excellent communication and guest service skills.
- Good command of English (spoken and written).
- Creative, detail-oriented, and passionate about coffee and beverage innovation.
- Professional appearance and positive service attitude.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- Relevant barista certification (e.g., specialty coffee training) is an advantage.
