Senior Barista

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, beverages, and specialty drinks according to established recipes and standards.
  • Maintain consistency in coffee quality, taste, presentation, and service delivery.
  • Supervise daily barista operations and provide guidance to junior team members.
  • Train and coach Baristas on coffee preparation techniques, beverage knowledge, and service standards.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and maintenance of coffee beans, ingredients, and equipment.
  • Monitor coffee equipment performance and coordinate maintenance when required.
  • Develop and recommend new beverage ideas, seasonal menus, and coffee promotions.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and hygiene standards of the coffee station and service area.
  • Assist in inventory control, stock monitoring, and beverage cost management.
  • Provide personalized service by engaging with guests and understanding their preferences.
  • Handle guest feedback and requests professionally to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Support hotel events, functions, and special beverage requirements when required.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and hotel operational standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–4 years of experience as a Barista, preferably in a 4- or 5-star hotel, specialty coffee shop, or luxury hospitality environment.
  • Strong knowledge of coffee beans, brewing methods, espresso techniques, and beverage preparation.
  • Experience in training and supervising junior baristas is preferred.
  • Good understanding of beverage costing, inventory control, and equipment maintenance.
  • Excellent communication and guest service skills.
  • Good command of English (spoken and written).
  • Creative, detail-oriented, and passionate about coffee and beverage innovation.
  • Professional appearance and positive service attitude.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Relevant barista certification (e.g., specialty coffee training) is an advantage.
