Ko tōu ake mahi - What you’ll do

As Senior Business Advisor, you will lead the evolution of the Ministry’s Financial Planning tool Workday - Adaptive Planning, driving innovation, strengthening capability, and ensuring systems and insights enable smarter, more strategic decision-making at every level.

  • Lead Adaptive Planning capability by driving system improvements, innovation, and daily management in line with the strategic roadmap.

  • Enhance reporting and insights through improved dashboards, financial reporting, and budget management tools for leaders.

  • Embed best practice by partnering across Finance and the business to optimise processes and uplift financial capability.

  • Provide system leadership including configuration, support, issue resolution, and continuous improvement of Adaptive Planning.

  • Build strong partnerships across the Ministry and wider sector to deliver high-quality outcomes and drive ongoing improvement.

  • Relevant experience and expertise in finance systems, with hands-on experience in Adaptive Planning or similar cloud-based platforms.

  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to navigate complexity and turn insights into clear, actionable advice.

  • Continuous improvement mindset with a proven ability to identify efficiencies and strengthen processes and controls.

  • Collaborative approach and strong stakeholder management skills, building effective relationships across teams and partners.

  • Clear communicator and influencer with experience training others, presenting solutions, and driving adoption of new systems and processes.
