The Transformation Office is responsible for driving enterprise-wide strategic transformation across Northern Trust, partnering with senior leaders to translate strategy into measurable, sustained business outcomes. With a significant focus on transforming Wealth Management, the team leads complex initiatives across strategy, operating model design, data and AI, technology, and change management to reimagine how we serve clients, empower employees, and drive growth. Through a combination of strategic execution, innovation, and disciplined delivery, the Transformation Office builds the capabilities, frameworks, and solutions that enable lasting impact across Wealth Management and the broader enterprise.

The Senior Business Analyst plays a critical role in enterprise transformation initiatives by translating business needs into clear requirements and actionable solutions. Working across multiple initiatives, this role partners closely with business leaders, Program Managers, Technology, and Data teams to support the onset, design, and delivery of large-scale change.
This role operates with a high degree of independence, applying functional and industry expertise to moderately complex, cross-functional workstreams in a fast-moving, transformation-driven environment.
What You’ll Do
- Support large enterprise transformation initiatives, multiple projects, or a defined workstream within complex programs.
- Partner with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
- Analyze current-state processes, workflows, and operating models to identify improvement opportunities.
- Support the design of enhanced operating, service, and delivery models.
- Serve as a key point of contact for Technology teams during solution design, development, and testing.
- Conduct preliminary and detailed analysis to support scope definition, solution design, and execution.
- Apply functional and industry expertise to provide consultative guidance to partners and project teams.
- Define success metrics and support performance tracking in partnership with Program Managers and Data teams.
- Prepare materials and participate in management and governance discussions as needed.
What You Bring
- Strong business analysis expertise with the ability to translate complex needs into clear, actionable requirements.
- In-depth functional and/or industry knowledge; financial services experience required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders.
- Ability to operate independently while managing multiple priorities across initiatives.
- High adaptability and effectiveness in environments with change and ambiguity.
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 5–10 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in financial services.
- Experience supporting large, cross-functional initiatives or transformation programs.
- Proven ability to work effectively across business and technology teams.
- This role is ideal for a seasoned business analyst who enjoys working at the intersection of strategy, execution, and technology to deliver meaningful transformation outcomes in enterprise-wide transformation initiatives.
Salary Range:
$83,100 - 141,300 USDSalary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
