Senior Category Lead – Wild Bean Café

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Category Lead to own and elevate the performance of Wild Bean Café (WBC) categories. This is a high-impact role where you’ll shape our retail offer, champion a customer-centric approach, and unlock strong commercial outcomes.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the end-to-end category management process for WBC, from strategy development to execution—covering assortment planning, pricing, promotion, and supplier management

  • Turn customer data and market insights into clear, actionable category strategies identifying trends, opportunities, and risks

  • Drive innovative product and service offerings that anticipate customer needs and create competitive advantage

  • Champion customer-centric thinking, ensuring every decision is data-driven and enhances the customer experience

  • Partner with internal stakeholders (operations, marketing, supply chain) and external partners to deliver on category goals

  • Secure value through strong negotiation planning and preparation, driving favourable supplier terms and conditions

  • Design and deliver retail training programs to enable consistent execution and operational excellence

  • Act as a trusted voice in industry knowledge and advocacy, staying ahead of trends, competitors, and regulatory changes

  • Embed a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the retail organisation

  • Leverage digital collaboration tools and practices to drive efficiency and cross-functional alignment

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience in Retail Category Management, ideally within food service or convenience retail

  • Strong Commercial Acumen with a track record of delivering profitable category growth

  • Advanced Analytical Thinking with the ability to turn complex data into actionable insights

  • Expertise in Data visualization and interpretation to communicate insights clearly

  • Outstanding Communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement and negotiation

  • Deep understanding of Customer data knowledge and its application to category strategy

  • Strong Partner relationship management, especially with key suppliers and franchisees

  • Ability to thrive using Agility core practices in a fast-paced environment

  • Proven Negotiation planning and preparation skills

  • Capability in delivering impactful Retail training skills

  • A genuine commitment to Knowledge Sharing and collaboration

  • Strong Industry knowledge and advocacy within food service or convenience retail
