Senior Chemical Technician
Responsibilities:
- Perform minor maintenance such as strainer cleaning, filter/ screen change, coolant/ lubricants top up and hose connection etc.
- Perform checks, start-up, and shutdown operations on process equipment such as pumps and compressors as per Standard Operating Procedures or Work Instructions.
- Isolating piping systems for plant start-up, shutdowns, product grade change and troubleshooting operations.
- Adjusting process parameters to optimize process operations under supervision of Supervisors.
- Collect process samples from assigned sampling points in a safe manner.
- Able to work in a laboratory environment performing in process sample testing to ensure product quality.
- Commissioning and de-commissioning of process equipment.
- Performing emergency shutdown of process equipment.
- Proper handing and blending of non-conforming and off specs products.
- Prepare plant equipment for maintenance and ensure all required Lockout, Tagout and Tryout has been performed.
- Preparing chemicals, including mixing and dilution, for process operations.
- Performing inter-tank transfers of chemicals and products based on established quality procedures.
- Performing emergency response activities and drills.
- Maintain acceptable housekeeping in assigned areas.
- Review of final product and process analytical results, and DCS conditions/trends.
- Understand and comply with departmental Safety and Environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Contribute to the improvement of the Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Programs.
- Performing any other duties or assignments as assigned by superiors.
Qualifications:
- NITEC or Diploma in Chemical Process Technology
- At least 8 years’ working experience as Process Technician in a chemical industry
