Senior Civil Engineer - Land Development
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you'll provide expert technical leadership on civil engineering
projects, taking ownership from concept to completion and delivering high-quality designs and
documentation. This role inspires engineering excellence, ensuring innovative and efficient

Project Leadership & Management
• Lead civil engineering projects (land development, commercial, industrial) from
concept to completion, ensuring client satisfaction, productivity, and adherence to
project schedules and budgets.
• Schedule own work and oversee the work of others as a project lead.
• Monitor project resourcing and implement solutions for efficient resource utilisation.
• Manage project variations, including identifying, assessing, and documenting
changes in scope, cost, and schedule.
• Represent the company at project meetings and inspections, ensuring effective
communication and documented outcomes.
• Liaise and negotiate with local councils and other relevant authorities to obtain
necessary approvals and permits.
Design & Technical Expertise
• Prepare high-quality, detailed designs, drawings, and documentation for civil
engineering projects.
• Conduct engineering and design work, delegating and monitoring tasks as needed,
including the design of:
o Stormwater drainage
o Bulk earthworks
o Roadworks
o Traffic management
o Water supply and sewage systems
• Investigate engineering problems, provide expert advice, and coordinate effective
solutions.
• Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and best practices.
Project Financials Responsibilities
• Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenditures and ensuring adherence
to financial targets.
• Monitor project costs, identify potential overruns, and implement cost-saving
measures where necessary.
• Prepare and submit invoices to clients, track outstanding payments, and ensure
timely collection of receivables.
• Provide regular financial reports to project stakeholders, including budget status, cost
forecasts, and variance analysis.
• Review and understand project contracts, ensuring compliance with financial terms
and conditions.
Partner Experience
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and government bodies, ensuring
their needs and expectations are met throughout the project lifecycle.
• Foster effective communication and collaboration with clients, internal colleagues,
and external stakeholders (e.g., subcontractors, government agencies).
• Proactively engage with stakeholders, providing regular project updates, addressing
concerns, and seeking feedback.
• Skillfully negotiate with stakeholders to achieve project objectives and resolve
conflicts in a constructive manner.
• Cultivate positive and productive relationships with all stakeholders, fostering trust
and mutual respect.
Health, Safety, Environment and Quality
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and relevant ISO standards and ensure
project document is retained as per HSEQ Management System
• Play a key role in developing and delivering systems or project administration training
for employees.
• Participate in HSEQ training, report incidents, and support a culture of safety and
quality.
• Follow safety rules, identify and address risks, and promote a safe workplace.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, recommending corrective actions to
prevent future occurrences.
• Proactively identify and assess potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and
implement measures to ensure safety in design and on site
• Participates in Emergency Preparedness activities e.g. fire evacuations
Innovation
• Participate in discussions on work system improvements, including leveraging
technology for information sharing, management, and quality control.
• Actively engage in reviewing work standards and monitoring processes, initiating
recommendations for improvement.
• Assist clients to identify sustainable options and implications
• Bring ideas forward on how we can improve the way we deliver our partner
experience.
Your Profile
To be successful in this role, you should have:
Minimum 6-10 Years Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (or
equivalent)
Member of Engineers Australia
Charted Professional Engineer (CPEng)
