Senior Commercial Analyst
The Role
Join our Commercial Finance team as a Senior Commercial Analyst in the Brisbane HQ for Megaport, reporting to the Commercial Manager.
This critical position plays an integral role on the Commercial Finance team in delivering commercial outcomes, supporting strategic decision-making, and ensuring alignment across globally distributed departments. With a primary focus on supporting global sales, pricing and product, the analyst will contribute to strategic sales alignment, pricing strategies, new product development, and business expansion initiatives.
What You’ll Be Doing
Commercial Support & Business Partnering: Collaborate closely with sales, legal, engineering, operations and finance teams to provide commercial insights, support strategic decision-making, and act as a trusted commercial advisor.
Deal & Pricing: Lead the deals desk and pricing strategy and operations, driving profitable solutions through deal structures, pricing, product and commercial terms, ensuring alignment with company strategies and revenue targets.
Product & Business Expansion: Lead the commercial support and evaluation of new products and commercial initiatives, collaborating with all departments to ensure pricing, compensation, commercial terms and financial operations align with company strategies.
Sales Strategy and Compensation: Support the design, analysis, and management of commission structures, ensuring alignment with company strategies and revenue targets.
Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare regular financial reports, including performance reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis to drive commercial success. Develop dashboards and enhanced KPI metrics to measure and support the continued success of commercial strategies.
What We Are Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA, CFA, or equivalent certification preferred).
5+ years of experience in a commercial finance or financial planning & analysis (FP&A) role, ideally within a global organisation.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex commercial concepts to non-commercial stakeholders.
Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for solving complicated commercial challenges.
Highly organised and self-motivated, capable of working independently while staying connected to a global remote team.
Experience working with sales, product, engineering and legal departments will be highly regarded.
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling, Excel, business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Salesforce)
