Job Overview
Mainspring Energy is seeking a highly motivated, mechanically inclined Senior Commissioning Operations Technician to join our growing Commissioning team. In this role, you will play a direct lead in completing planned and reactive service operations while transitioning into the technical operation of our systems. You will be responsible for the mechanical integrity of our units while increasingly taking on the configuration and startup of custom systems based on Mainspring's linear generators.
Responsibilities
Mechanically repair and/or perform maintenance on components and assemblies that make up our generators in accordance with procedures and build checklists in order to meet customer requirements
Collaborate with engineers to fix, repair, and redesign components and assemblies
Conduct mechanical inspections of recently installed units, documenting condition information for use by our team for debugging or troubleshooting
Execute technical tasks and site operations with minimal supervision in variable environmental conditions, demonstrating self-motivation and a strong commitment to safety
Perform initial configuration and startup of custom linear generator systems based on established engineering parameters
Utilize and provide feedback on automation scripts and commissioning toolkits to streamline unit onboarding and testing
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience with mechanical assembly and/or repair. Experience with automotive, aviation, and/or heavy equipment (i.e. HVAC, elevators/lifts, or industrial equipment) assembly a plus
Experience with precision measuring, down to .001”, using micrometers, bore gauges, gauge blocks, etc. Also, familiarity with torque wrenches and documentation of repairs performed
Candidates must be able to stand for long periods of time, lift to 50 lbs., and wear required PPE
Must have knowledge of how to use and maintain basic tools, such as torque wrenches and torque specifications
Must have experience with following written and verbal work instructions while on-site
Excellent communication skills, software knowledge of Google Workspace is a plus
A proven track record for the ability to work well with others as part of a dynamic team
Ability to learn quickly, operate with minimal supervision, demonstrating self-motivation and a strong commitment to safety
Valid Driver’s license required; Class C Commercial Driver’s License preferred
Willingness and ability to travel nationwide up to 50% of the time
Bonus Qualifications
Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues using a combination of mechanical skill and system-level data
Knowledge of electrical power distribution and industrial control systems to better assist with system-level testing
Experience interacting directly with customers in a technical capacity

New hires joining the company tend to be paid within the starting base pay range noted above, with opportunities to increase pay over time based on development of additional skills, competencies, and company-specific knowledge.
