Senior Compliance Contract Specialist

This role is a key compliance and contract management position focused on the end-to-end lifecycle of complex healthcare administrative agreements. You will act as a subject matter expert responsible for drafting, reviewing, and managing Administrative Services Agreements (ASAs) and related contractual documents that support self-funded health plan operations.
The position plays a critical role in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and consistency across all contract deliverables while aligning with legal guidance and organizational standards.
You will collaborate closely with internal teams such as compliance, client services, and sales, as well as external stakeholders including clients and brokers.
Beyond contract execution, the role contributes directly to process improvement, standardization, and operational efficiency initiatives across the organization.
It is well suited for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment and enjoys balancing legal precision with business partnership.
You will also support mentoring efforts and help elevate best practices across the broader contract management function.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will oversee contract development, compliance alignment, and continuous improvement across the ASA contract lifecycle:

  • Lead the end-to-end drafting, revision, execution, and management of Administrative Services Agreements (ASAs) and related contract documents.
  • Ensure timely and accurate contract delivery in alignment with internal priorities, legal standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Customize and maintain contract templates, including amendments, addenda, HIPAA certifications, and vendor agreements.
  • Draft and refine contract language in collaboration with legal counsel for review and approval.
  • Establish and uphold contract governance standards to ensure consistency, compliance, and accuracy across all agreements.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance contract quality, reduce cycle times, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain tracking systems and reporting tools for contract status, metrics, and compliance monitoring.
  • Provide advisory support to internal stakeholders on contract interpretation and obligations.
  • Support audits by ensuring completeness and accuracy of contractual documentation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with client services, sales, compliance, and external partners to resolve contract-related issues.
  • Mentor junior team members and promote best practices in contract development and compliance management.

  • Requirements

    The ideal candidate brings strong contract management expertise within healthcare or regulated environments, along with excellent analytical and communication skills:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
    • 5+ years of experience in contract management, compliance, or related fields, preferably in healthcare, TPA, or employee benefits environments.
    • Strong expertise in drafting and managing complex contractual agreements, ideally including ASAs or similar frameworks.
    • Solid understanding of federal and state regulations related to self-funded health plans.
    • Experience working with cross-functional teams including legal, compliance, sales, and client services.
    • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and maintain high attention to detail.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively in a team environment.
    • Experience with process improvement, workflow standardization, or operational optimization is highly valued.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and contract management systems.
    • Professional certifications (e.g., CHC, CRCM, JD) are a plus.
