We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Consultant – Capacity Management to join the Asset Management team and play a key role in strengthening the resilience of BNZ’s Technology. Working alongside our Platform and Product owners, you will lead how we plan, monitor and optimise technology capacity across the enterprise, ensuring we have the right capability in place to meet both current and future demand.

You’ll use your strong analytical skills to turn complex capacity data into clear, actionable insights that support informed decision-making and prioritisation across the business.

We sat down with the Platform Manager – Asset Management and they shared more about the role.

What do you want candidates to know before they apply?

This is a heavily analytical role. Your core responsibilities will be leading capacity planning and providing data-driven insights across our technology estate for senior leaders to consume.

You will need to be confident working with data, identifying trends and gaps, and translating that into meaningful insights that ensure the right decisions are being made around capacity and demand.

What will the successful candidate be doing day to day?

  • Leading the planning, coordination and execution of asset and enterprise level capacity plans and processes.

  • Monitoring and analysing capacity plans against actual positions and reporting compliance gaps.

  • Designing and delivering a roadmap to uplift capacity management processes end to end.

  • Partnering with application and infrastructure teams to verify capacity plans and adherence.

  • Supporting Service Owners to maintain evidence of compliance for regulated and internal control requirements.

  • Developing and maintaining documentation, dashboards and reporting for management and audit review.

What specific skills and experience are you looking for?

  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise IT operations, with a focus on capacity management.

  • Proven experience leading capacity management uplift across an enterprise environment.

  • Understanding of control and risk management methodologies.

  • Experience working with monitoring toolsets and understanding how capacity management integrates with FinOps outcomes.

  • Strong analytical and reporting capability with attention to accuracy and traceability.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience working in a regulated financial or enterprise environment preferred.

  • A tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
