Are you someone who enjoys bringing order, clarity and quality to complex processes? Macquarie University is seeking a Senior Curriculum Officer to join the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education) portfolio and play a key part in how our curriculum is planned, governed and delivered.

In this role, you will provide essential academic governance and administrative expertise across curriculum management and the education systems that bring our programs to life. You will work alongside faculties, IT and central teams to keep curriculum information accurate, well-governed and aligned to policy, while helping to improve the way curriculum is implemented and presented.

About the Role

Reporting to the Manager, Curriculum Administration, you will provide operational and project expertise that keeps curriculum planning and education systems running smoothly. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Guiding and administering curriculum planning cycles, including curriculum information collection, handling and governance, while helping to maintain data accuracy, integrity and policy alignment.

  • Providing operational help for day-to-day system operations, monitoring performance and usage, and taking part in system upgrades, innovation and testing.

  • Identifying reporting requirements and producing reports and analytics that inform decision-making and continuous improvement.

  • Helping to deliver training across the Curriculum Team, faculties and other stakeholders.

  • Providing project help across curriculum and education systems projects.

  • Partnering with academic and professional staff to gather and organise curriculum information and stakeholder requirements in line with governance, policy, procedure and academic standards.

About Us

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) is the Chief Academic Officer of the University and the member of the University Executive with overall responsibility for the planning, quality and delivery of education for Macquarie's undergraduate and graduate students. The Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education) leads the University's educational endeavour across every stage of the educational lifecycle, including pathways and access, curriculum and educational capability development, and graduate success.

About You

You are an organised and detail-focused professional who enjoys improving processes, working across teams and helping complex systems run well. You bring clear communication skills and a methodical approach to managing information, priorities and deadlines.

Selection Criteria

  • A tertiary qualification in a related field and/or equivalent experience.

  • Demonstrated experience providing operational and administrative support in a complex environment, ideally within a higher education or similarly regulated setting.

  • Strong working knowledge of, or the demonstrated ability to quickly acquire proficiency in, curriculum management and education systems, including data administration and quality assurance.

  • Proven ability to manage complex administrative tasks with a high level of accuracy, attention to detail and compliance with governance, policy and procedure.

  • Demonstrated analytical and reporting skills, including the ability to interpret data, identify trends and issues, and make recommendations to support decision-making.

  • Experience contributing to projects and process improvement initiatives, including coordinating tasks, tracking progress and supporting effective communication.

  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide guidance, front-line support and training to a range of stakeholders, and to develop clear procedural documentation.

  • Knowledge of, and commitment to, EEO and WHS principles and their application in the workplace.

Desired:

  • Familiarity with university policies and administrative processes.
