• Develop high-quality data transformations for analytics, reporting and AI/ML workloads.
• Work with Databricks, Delta Live Tables, Lakeflow, Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Implement testing, monitoring and data quality practices.
• Lead technical discussions and translate business requirements into engineering outcomes.
• Collaborate with architects and delivery teams on solution design and delivery planning.
• Mentor junior and intermediate engineers and support knowledge sharing across the team.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of frameworks, templates and delivery standards.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• 6+ years of Data Engineering experience.
• 4+ years of hands-on Databricks experience, including Delta Live Tables, notebooks and workflows.
• Strong Python and SQL skills.
• Experience delivering lakehouse, warehouse or cloud-native data platforms.
• Exposure to Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Platform technologies.
• Knowledge of data modelling, Medallion Architecture and scalable solution design.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Experience implementing testing and data quality frameworks.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Experience mentoring or providing technical leadership to other engineers.
• Relevant Databricks certifications or commitment to ongoing professional development.

ABOUT YOU

• Strong communicator who enjoys working with clients and stakeholders.
• Self-motivated, organised and delivery focused.
• Comfortable balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Curious, adaptable and committed to continuous learning.
• Strong problem-solving mindset.
• Professional, collaborative and team-oriented.

WHY JOIN ADAPTIV?

• Join a high-performing and supportive team.
• Work with modern technologies including Databricks, Azure and Fabric.
• Real opportunities for career growth and technical development.
• Modern offices across Auckland, Christchurch, Wellington, Melbourne and Brisbane.
• Make a visible impact across client projects and the wider business.

If you're looking to combine hands-on engineering with consulting and stakeholder engagement, we'd love to hear from you.
