Senior Data Platform Engineer
You will lead the design and delivery of core data platform systems and take initiatives from concept through implementation. You will build and scale low-latency real-time data pipelines to enable event delivery and machine learning, embed best practices and data governance, and develop orchestration and automation to streamline data workflows. You will write well-tested, high-quality, performant code for real-time processing and infrastructure management, own estimation and execution of complex projects and major upgrades, and mentor engineers through guidance and code reviews.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of complex data engineering projects
- Design and develop core data platform components
- Build and scale low-latency real-time data pipelines for event delivery and machine learning enablement
- Embed data platform best practices and governance
- Develop orchestration and automation capabilities to streamline data workflows
- Estimate, plan, and execute complex projects including new features and major upgrades
- Write well-tested, high-quality, performant code for real-time data processing, automation, and infrastructure management
- Mentor engineers and promote best practices through guidance and code reviews
Requirements
- Proven experience building and delivering low-latency real-time data applications
- Hands-on expertise with real-time event-driven systems such as Kafka and Pub/Sub
- Experience with in-stream processing frameworks such as Apache Beam, Spark, or Flink
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code for production-grade data infrastructure (e.g., Terraform)
- Experience building platform capabilities that other engineers and teams can leverage
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Product, Backend, and Machine Learning partners
- Passion for mentoring and raising engineering standards
