Foodstuffs Own Brands is part of the wider Foodstuffs whānau, operating as a national team across both North and South Island co-operatives. We develop and manage a portfolio of more than 4,500 private brand products, working closely with our co-op, stores, and supply partners to deliver what New Zealanders want and need.

Te Tūranga – About the role
In this role, you'll lead creative ideation and design direction across our private brand packaging portfolio, while also supporting campaign, brand and communications activity.
You'll play a key role in shaping how our brands show up for customers, helping deliver creative work that is clear, consistent and commercially effective.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading creative concepts and design direction across the private brand portfolio
- Providing clear creative recommendations to influence final design decisions
- Mentoring and supporting designers to lift creative quality and consistency
- Collaborating with internal teams and external partners
- Maintaining and evolving brand guidelines and design standards
- Championing creative excellence across all brand touchpoints
- Supporting studio workflow improvements to increase speed to market
He kōrero mōu - About you
We’re looking for a creative thinker who enjoys working collaboratively and delivering high-quality design at pace.
You’ll bring:
- 5+ years’ experience in graphic design across multiple brands and media
- Strong portfolio experience (ideally within FMCG packaging), with an understanding of how design translates from concept through to production
- Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite (especially with InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to present ideas clearly
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- A collaborative approach, balanced with the ability to work independently
- Curiosity, initiative, and a drive to continuously improve
