The Opportunity to Make a Difference

The Position:

The Head of New Product Strategy and Commercialization is responsible for the global commercial strategy of our pipeline of best-in-class siRNA assets. As the Head of New Product Strategy and Commercialization, you will co-lead the program Asset Team with an R&D co-lead accountable for shaping and advancing asset strategy in partnership with cross-functional peers. The individual must be able to drive timely, high-quality decisions, align diverse stakeholders across a complex matrix organization, and be accountable for recommendations and outcomes to executive management that impact the asset.

In your capacity as program Asset Co-Lead you will work across the portfolio and in partnership with the Global Brand Team, Global Development Team, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Commercial Operations, Clinical Development, and Patient Advocacy. For our later-stage assets, you will be accountable for actionable brand strategic and tactical plans to optimize launch readiness and commercial success, including disease awareness communications for multiple stakeholders, such as HCPs and patients/caregivers, to ensure market preparation.

This role also partners closely with Business Development to provide commercial assessments of external opportunities and support discussions on potential external partnerships.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

Head of New Product Strategy and Commercialization

  • Own the asset strategic roadmap and long-term vision, ensuring commercial perspective is embedded in enterprise decision-making
  • Be accountable for delivery of the asset objectives against corporate goals, including key strategic recommendations, trade-off decisions, and execution milestones
  • Drive asset-level cross-functional decision-making by integrating functional input, resolving ambiguity, and escalating critical issues when needed
  • Identify, assess, and elevate asset-level risks and opportunities, with clear ownership of mitigation strategies and decision follow-through
  • Lead the development of target product profiles for pipeline assets, based on thorough understanding of market dynamics and potential future trends
  • Partner with Market Access, Medical, and HEOR to build evidence and value strategies that support payer engagement and access for commercialization
  • Partner with Commercial Operations and Manufacturing to develop integrated forecasts and market potential assessments
  • Lead commercial assessments of potential therapeutic targets and programs

Desired Education and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years or (MBA preferred with 13+ years) of experience in biotech/pharma strategic roles with a track record demonstrating accountability, sense of urgency and cross functional leadership
  • Strong commercial acumen with significant experience in commercial strategy, brand marketing, brand strategy, and product management is required; global product launch experience in rare disease is preferred
  • Extensive understanding of drug development and proven track record of using deep customer and market insight to deliver informed recommendations to R&D decisions that ensure attainment of commercial objectives
  • Excellent organizational skills, sufficient to multi-task in an extremely fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Strong leadership abilities to influence and lead across a matrix environment, drive timely cross-functional decisions, and be accountable for asset-level recommendations and outcomes
  • Experience in high science, competitive markets required
  • Experience supporting business development through commercial opportunity assessment and due diligence, including evaluation of external assets, markets, and strategic fit

This position is hybrid, you will be expected to work on site at one of Sarepta’s facilities in the United States and/or attend Company-sponsored in-person events from time to time.

The targeted salary range for this position is $222,400 - $278,000 per year. Sarepta is making a good faith effort to be transparent and accurate around our hiring ranges. The salary offer is commensurate with Sarepta’s compensation philosophy and considers factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, external market conditions, criticality of role, and internal equity.
