Senior Director of Cloud Engineering
Position Summary
The Senior Director of Cloud Engineering is a critical member of the IT Team. This position requires an individual with a strong technical background, as well as an ability to work across all business units and markets to align priorities and plans with key business objectives. The Senior Director provides strategic direction for the organization’s technical infrastructure and security (including hardware, software, servers, databases, storage solutions, networks, audiovisual equipment, or physical facilities) in support of critical district business needs
Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership
- Provide leadership, motivation, coaching, professional development, and day-to-day support to foster an engaged work environment with a focus on customer service.
- Oversee the selection, development, deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and enhancement of Centria’s infrastructure.
- Assist team members in developing methods and processes to improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and security of the network services, desktop support, and user support functions.
- Stay current in technology trends and proactively provide technology recommendations.
- Establish service level agreements and monitor progress toward key service delivery performance indicators (KPIs) or metrics.
- Follow Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) practices to drive process standardization and business value creation.
Azure Cloud Administration and Security
- Maintain Azure networking infrastructure, Azure WAF, and Azure functions.
- Partner with development engineering team on DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
- Manage containers, azure functions from an administration support, security, vulnerability, and spend optimization.
- Lead the design to harden Azure images to improve security posture.
- Design, implement, configure, and manage AVD environments, including host pools, application groups, workspace configuration, and image management (golden image creation and maintenance).
- Monitor and optimize AVD and all other Azure resource performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Manage, deploy, and maintain Windows Server virtual machines and support infrastructure within Microsoft Azure.
- Administer Azure Active Directory (Azure AD), including users, groups, conditional access, and synchronization with on-premises directories.
- Implement and manage Azure storage solutions, backup, and disaster recovery strategies for cloud-based resources.
- Leverage Azure defender for cloud to identify, assign, and fix vulnerabilities. Provide technical guidance.
- Implement conditional access strategy on Azure.
- Manage and optimize Azure spend by identifying unused cloud assets. Optimize cloud CMDB.
- Manage, create, deploy, and enforce security, compliance, and configuration policies with Intune, GPO, and AutoMox across Azure and other cloud managed and laptop devices.
- Manage a team that consistently resolve vulnerabilities with automated patching under defined SLAs.
Infrastructure and End User Compute Operations
- Manage the daily IT end user compute and infrastructure operations.
- Directly and indirectly manage exempt and non-exempt team members and suppliers, and actively influence leadership throughout the company on infrastructure and security best practices.
- Implement and maintain all network services infrastructure with special emphasis on the security and stability of Centria’s systems and its confidential data.
- Manage and participate in the planning and implementation of security standards, practices, and procedures to ensure system security and legal compliance.
- Manage and govern vendor relationships, ensuring that service levels and vendor obligations are met.
- Develop, schedule, test, and communicate the IT Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plan and Procedures. Lead the Disaster Recovery annual testing.
- Partner with all departments to integrate security into operational processes (Field Operations, Clinical, Finance, Risk Management, Human Resources, etc.)
Information Security
- Implement security standards including the NIST Cyber Security Framework, ISO 27000 series, PCI, HIPAA, and CIS controls and benchmarks.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of risk-based decision making and risk management frameworks.
- Implement information security and privacy governance including development and implementation of policies, standards, and procedures.
- Implement “defense in depth” based security architectures which account for security at multiple layers of the technology stack including policy, physical, perimeter network, internal network, host, data, and application.
- Actively lead incident response activities and implement incident response processes and procedures.
- Implement a continuous improvement approach to core security applications and capabilities including the following: vulnerability management, threat modeling, risk assessment, threat intelligence, etc.
- Work with third-party security partners, including managed Start of Care providers, penetration testing and vulnerability assessment providers, external auditors, etc.
- Maintain all aspects of IT security, including infrastructure, end user compute, applications, back-up/restore, identity and access management, Active Directory, cloud, etc.
- Implement and execute the security policies around vulnerability management, network, cloud security, identity and access management, and all areas of security.
- Maintain awareness of new cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies to keep the organization secure.
- Monitor network activity to identify signs of intrusion or compromise.
- Provide technical support for computer networks, including firewalls, operating systems and applications, patch management, and data security best practices.
- Supervise and train team members on information security best practices to ensure compliance with company policies.
- Conduct audits to ensure security protocols are being followed by team members.
- Define and own multi-year IT security roadmap and implementation with internal and external resources.
- Experience with conducting end-user security awareness training and with security awareness program management.
- Participate in annual security, privacy, and compliance policy reviews and make/recommend necessary adjustments.
- Manage the 24x5 onsite offshore team for responsibilities listed above.

Qualifications
Education/Licenses

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar discipline
Work Experience
- 20+ years of infrastructure and security experience
- 10+ years of experience leading security and infrastructure engineers
- 7+ years of experience in Azure and/or AWS and/or GCP cloud technologies and infrastructure
- 5+ years of experience in Microservices and Containers
Equipment and Technology Requirements
- Working knowledge of laptop/desktop PC
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel)
- Proficiency in G Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Google Meet)

Knowledge and Skills
- Technical breadth with a multitude of disciplines in Software Engineering, Products Integration, Data, Networking, Security, Cloud, etc.
- Working experience in any cloud platforms Azure/AWS or GCP. DevOps principles and CI & CD.
- Strong technical skills, including experience with software, hardware, and network technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with key internal and external stakeholders.
Pay
$160,000.00 - $220,000.00 plus bonus
Working Conditions
- Centria's office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM.
- Additional time or occasional shifts in schedule may be required as dictated by the needs of the business for projects and meetings.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, physical requirements such as bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 30 pounds may be required. This role will require sitting most of the day as well as walking and standing periodically. This role may require close visual acuity on computer screens or monitors and the ability to analyze data and figures on a screen.
