Senior Director of Software Engineering - Business Partner Network Services
Your opportunity to make a real impact and shape the future of financial services is waiting for you. Let’s push the boundaries of what's possible together.
As a Senior Director of Infrastructure Engineering within JPMorganChase Network Services, you lead the firm’s Business Partner Network Services function. You are responsible for the engineering strategy and end-to-end delivery of standardized, secure partner ingress and egress connectivity across all lines of business.
You will define and scale a differentiated, partner-facing onboarding experience at the network edge, including clear onboarding journeys, transparent requirements, predictable timelines, reusable patterns, and controls-by-design.
This portfolio spans colocation and interconnection edge environments, partner exchanges, on-prem connectivity, and hybrid cloud adjacency, with AWS connectivity as a core pillar (Direct Connect, PrivateLink) and governed extensions into multi-cloud (Azure ExpressRoute, Google Cloud Interconnect).
This role requires strong executive judgment, deep technical credibility, and disciplined risk and control leadership in a highly regulated environment.
Job responsibilities
- Own engineering outcomes for firmwide partner connectivity across the full lifecycle (intake, design validation, implementation, testing, cutover, and operations)
- Establish and enforce a consistent operating model that reduces bespoke engineering and ensures operational readiness prior to production
- Define and govern global standards for edge connectivity, including segmentation, routing policy, resiliency, encryption, observability, and operational acceptance
- Lead platform strategy and execution across large-scale Cisco and Arista environments, including architecture, lifecycle management, capacity planning, automation, and configuration compliance
- Drive interconnection and partner ecosystem strategy, including Equinix Fabric and exchange-based connectivity models
- Own hybrid cloud connectivity patterns with AWS (Direct Connect, PrivateLink), with governed extensions for Azure and Google Cloud connectivity
- Treat partner onboarding as a product by delivering standardized artifacts, self-service capabilities, and automation to improve speed and quality
- Establish and manage KPIs including time-to-connect, first-time-right, change success rate, partner-impacting incidents, and operational readiness adherence
- Lead AI-enabled transformation initiatives to reduce cycle time, defects, and operational toil across onboarding and operations
- Own risk, controls, and compliance execution, including technology lifecycle management and cryptographic modernization planning (including PQC readiness)
- Provide senior stakeholder leadership across product, cyber, architecture, operations, and lines of business, driving decisions that balance delivery, resiliency, security, and cost
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- 10+ years of progressive infrastructure engineering leadership experience, including large-scale network or connectivity platforms in regulated environments
- Proven experience leading enterprise B2B and third-party connectivity programs, including onboarding, migration, lifecycle management, and operations
- Deep technical credibility operating edge connectivity at scale using Cisco and Arista, including high availability design, capacity management, lifecycle execution, automation, and observability
- Strong expertise in hybrid cloud connectivity patterns, including AWS Direct Connect and AWS PrivateLink, with familiarity in Azure ExpressRoute and Google Cloud Interconnect
- Experience with interconnect and exchange ecosystems (e.g., Equinix Fabric) and translating partner constraints into secure, scalable connectivity solutions
- Strong command of incident, change, and problem management disciplines with measurable reliability outcomes
- Deep understanding of risk, controls, and governance practices, including audit readiness, evidence standards, and operational risk management
- Demonstrated ability to influence across highly matrixed organizations and communicate complex topics with executive clarity
- Proven track record of leading, developing, and scaling engineering teams
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience leading partner- or customer-facing technical programs, including executive onboarding discussions and multi-party delivery governance
- Proven ability to build scalable, productized partner onboarding models with self-service capabilities, standardized workflows, and automated validation
- Experience driving automation and AI-enabled transformation to improve onboarding, operations, and control evidence in regulated environments
- Familiarity with cloud adjacency and colocation-centric architectures, balancing performance, control, and supportability requirements
- Experience leading cryptographic modernization initiatives and/or early planning for post-quantum cryptography (PQC)
- Relevant security or cloud certifications (e.g., CISSP, AWS specialization) aligned to real-world implementation leadership
- Experience working at code level
