Senior Distribution Manager
Job Description:
The Senior Distribution Manager is responsible for providing leadership to, and management of, the Warehousing and Delivery Function as well as continually improving the performance of the department. This role will travel between our sites in Twin Oaks, PA and Montgomeryville, PA . The incumbent can reside near one location or the other.
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manages the operating activities of the Distribution department in the region.
- Manages, supervises, hires and trains distribution staff.
- Coordinates delivery routes and ensures delivery personnel maintain a superior level of customer service through an organized routing system.
- Performs daily reconciliation of packaged ice transfers in and out of the warehouse through a daily inventory program.
- Arranges driver scheduling in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Oversees performance management of distribution staff.
- Implements and maintains budget by controlling costs.
- Compiles accurate and complete inventory reports.
- Maintains employee moral monitored through high retention of drivers and positive feedback from customers.
- Maintains proper staffing level to ensure efficient operation of department.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Candidate Qualifications:
- 5-10 years’ experience multisite distribution/transportation management experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Driving Regulations.
- Ability to have and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work within a team environment dealing with high-pressure situations.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Must be organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge and understanding of hand-held units and phone systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
