Senior DPU Datapath Engineer, Validation & Automation
What You'll Do:
The Network Services / DPU team at CoreWeave owns the high-performance network virtualization and hardware-offloaded datapath layers that power our global AI cloud. We design and build the infrastructure that eliminates communication bottlenecks for massive GPU clusters, ensuring multi-tenant workloads execute securely and at line-rate.
About the role:
As a Senior Engineer on the DPU team, you will lead a local team driving the test strategy and automation execution for our OVS-based datapath and related control-plane components. You will partner closely with DPU, networking, and platform engineering groups to turn dataplane validation into a reliable, repeatable service that gates production releases. This role involves designing sophisticated automation to orchestrate DPU/host configurations and OVS pipelines, integrating these test beds into CI/CD pipelines, and validating regression, functionality, and scalability for NVIDIA software releases. You will influence the long-term architecture of DPU datapath and control-plane designs for maximum testability, participate in rotating on-call structures, and work directly with strategic vendors like NVIDIA on escalations and hardware feature validation.
Who You Are:
- 7+ years of professional engineering experience in networking, systems, or cloud infrastructure, with a deep focus on dataplane technologies and production operations.
- Hands-on engineering experience with NVIDIA DPUs (e.g., BlueField platforms) in large-scale deployments, including firmware/software lifecycle and hardware offload pipelines.
- Strong, deep knowledge of Open vSwitch (OVS) configuration and pipelines, including bridges, flows, and hardware offloads.
- Solid technical background in cloud networking infrastructure, including VPCs, routing, security policies, and overlay/underlay networking topologies.
- Proven ability to build testing, simulation, and automation frameworks from scratch using Python, Golang, or similar systems languages.
- High proficiency in network observability, low-level benchmarking, and deep production troubleshooting using tools like tcpdump, iproute2, and perf.
- Excellent communication and technical leadership skills, with a track record of driving technical direction and mentoring engineers.
Preferred:
- Direct experience validating and operating NVIDIA DPU / DOCA / HBN stacks within a hyperscale or cloud provider environment.
- Prior technical work on system-level validation for network switches, smartNICs, or specialized DPUs.
- Experience with Kubernetes-based environments and integration of DPUs directly into bare-metal node lifecycles.
- Active open-source or production code contributions to projects such as P4, OVS, DPDK, or DOCA libraries.
Wondering if you're a good fit?
We believe in investing in our people, and value candidates who can bring their own diversified experiences to our teams even if you aren't a 100% skill or experience match. Here are a few qualities we've found compatible with our team. If some of this describes you, we'd love to talk.
- You love to build long-term, strategic frameworks and find creative automation solutions to safeguard network reliability at hyperscale.
- You're curious about the rapidly evolving AI and cloud ecosystem, staying current on next-generation hardware-offload architectures.
- You're an expert in connecting dots across distributed platform teams and organizations to design scalable plays that drive measurable engineering impact.
