Senior Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise maintenance activities and reliability improvement initiatives for electrical systems and equipment, particularly within the Gas Engine Generator (GEG) area
  • Develop and implement reliability programs and preventive maintenance procedures to ensure consistent and efficient maintenance of electrical assets
  • Plan and execute minor capital (CAPEX) electrical projects in accordance with company guidelines and engineering best practices
  • Investigate electrical equipment failures or malfunctions to identify root causes and implement effective corrective and preventive measures
  • Liaise with external stakeholders, including government agencies, on matters related to electrical systems and regulatory compliance
  • Provide electrical engineering support for major terminal expansion projects, ensuring alignment with operational requirements and system integration
  • Work closely with the Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) to ensure the continued integrity and statutory compliance of all electrical systems
  • Participate in the terminal’s emergency response team and assume assigned roles and responsibilities during emergency situations

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical, Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in electrical maintenance or design within oil & gas, petrochemical, or power generation industries
  • Must have Strong technical knowledge and practical experience with high-voltage electrical power systems
  • Proficient in the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of high and low voltage electrical systems, including switchgear, transformers, protection relays
  • Sound understanding of electrical system studies such as load flow, fault level analysis, arc flash, and protection coordination.
  • Familiarity with standards and codes (e.g., SS 638), EMA licensing requirements, and international electrical engineering codes (e.g., International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE)
