As a Senior Electrical Engineer you will design and oversee electrical and power distribution systems for data centers focusing on reliability and efficiency. You will perform load calculations and power availability modeling to optimize design performance and cost. You will create electrical schematics and BOMs using CAD software, ensure compliance with NEC and local codes, assess existing systems and propose improvements, provide technical support to project teams, and contribute to procurement by ensuring accurate specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop power distribution systems and backup power solutions that meet high standards for reliability, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Perform load calculations, power distribution analysis, and power availability modeling to optimize design performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Create detailed electrical schematics, CAD drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) using CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, Inventor, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local building codes, and industry standards.
  • Assess existing systems, identify opportunities for improvements, and recommend solutions to enhance system performance and reduce costs.
  • Provide technical support to project teams, including design documentation, system integration, and troubleshooting.
  • Contribute to the procurement process by ensuring accurate specification of equipment and alignment with design goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on power distribution and systems design in data centers or related industries.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Inventor) and electrical design tools.
  • Strong knowledge of load calculations, electrical codes, and power distribution modeling.
  • Experience managing projects from conceptual design through final implementation.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Electrical Engineer (EE) preferred.
  • Familiarity with energy-efficient and sustainable design practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
