Senior Engineer - CAV
We are looking to expand our Intelligent Mobility team for the Middle East Region by appointing a Connected and Automated Vehicles (CAV) Expert to join WSP’s team in the Global Capacity Center (GCC) in India. You will support the Middle East Intelligent Mobility team, working on high-profile ITS and AV projects across the Middle East Region.
Lead the planning, development, and evaluation of Connected and Automated Vehicle (CAV) strategies, policies, and deployment roadmaps for transport and smart city projects.
Provide technical expertise on vehicle‑to‑everything (V2X) technologies, including V2V, V2I, V2N, and V2P communications.
Support the integration of CAV systems with ITS, traffic management centers (TMC), smart infrastructure, and digital mobility platforms.
Assess infrastructure readiness for CAV deployment, including roadside units (RSUs), communication networks, sensors, and data platforms.
Contribute to the design and evaluation of CAV testbeds, pilot projects, etc
Conduct technical feasibility studies, impact assessments, and risk analyses related to CAV implementation.
Support the preparation of standards, guidelines, and policies aligned with national and international CAV frameworks.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including transport planners, urban designers, ICT teams, etc.
Engage with stakeholders, authorities, and technology providers as a subject‑matter expert on CAV systems.
Ensure CAV solutions align with safety, cybersecurity, data privacy, sustainability, and regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Transportation Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of experience in smart mobility, vehicle automation, or connected vehicle technologies (experience related to CAV will be preferable).
- Strong knowledge of CAV architectures, V2X communication standards (e.g., C‑V2X, DSRC), sensors, AI/ADAS concepts, and digital infrastructure.
- Familiarity with international CAV standards and guidelines.
- Understanding of regulatory, safety, and cybersecurity considerations for connected and automated vehicles.
- Ability to develop technical reports, concept designs, requirements documents, and strategic roadmaps.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Experience working with government authorities, transport agencies, or engineering consultancies is highly preferred.
