Senior Engineer - Civil and Structural

The Civil Engineer wll be responsible for civil/structural design in FEED, detailed design, and execution phases for power plant and energy infrastructure projects (CCGT/OCGT, substations, industrial facilities), ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and international codes

• Perform design and analysis of RCC, steel, and composite structures for power plants
• Design Turbine & equipment foundations, Boiler structures, pipe racks, and support structures, Buildings (control rooms, auxiliary buildings), Cable trenches, drainage, roads, and site grading
• Perform analysis and design of various structures for static and dynamic forces covering dead loads, live loads, operating loads, temperature, wind, seismic and pulsations. Experience required in analysis and design of Steel structures like Piperacks, Technological Structures, Shelters, GMPs, VMPs, Pipe supports, Trussles, connection design and RCC structures like RCC Buildings, Pits, precast piperacks, Equipment foundations for static and dynamic conditions. Design of Piles, pile caps, Base plates, anchor bolts
• Carry out static, dynamic, seismic, and wind load analysis
• Co-ordination with designers for 3D model and 2D drawings, checking model and drawings, MTO, Co-ordination with other discipline for inputs and clearances on drawings
• Develop design basis, specifications, and calculation reports
• Assist in the preparation of technical inquiry requests (Inquiry Requisitions) to vendors, participate in the technical evaluation of vendor bid offers. Partake in Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE), review vendor drawings and documents. Review design calculations, ensure vendor equipment specifications meet with client equipment specifications and are within budgeted costs.
• Good knowledge on IS Codes, ACI, AISC, ASCE, Eurocodes.
• Collaborate with WSP UK office on design activities.
• Exhibit ingenuity, foresight, and wise decision-making skills in proactively identifying and resolving challenges
• Experience in Concept / feasibility studies, FEED engineering, Detailed design & engineering
• Prepare Structural layouts and sizing calculations, BOQs / MTOs and cost inputs
• Ensure design meets performance, safety, and lifecycle requirements
• Review and approve GA drawings, reinforcement details, fabrication/shop drawings, Vendor/OEM drawings and calculations
• Ensure alignment with project specs, codes, and constructability
• Interface with cross discipline teams
• Integrate geotechnical, topographical, and site data into design
• Participate in design reviews and model coordination (3D/IDIT inputs)
• Adhere to quality processes (QA/QC, ITPs, documentation)
• Incorporate safety, seismic, and environmental requirements into design
• Support project planning and resource allocation
• Knowledge of Geotechnical integration & Structural integrity and assessment
• Good knowledge on IS Codes, ACI, AISC, ASCE, Eurocodes.
• Familiarity with power plant is an advantage

Software Tools

• STAAD. Pro / ETABS / SAP2000
• AutoCAD / MicroStation / Revit
• Foundation software (MAT 3D / SAFE, etc.)
