Senior Engineer Civil/Structural
Job Responsibilities
- Involve in full-spectrum Civil & Structural (C&S) design activities for industrial facilities, ensuring structural integrity, constructability, and alignment with project specifications.
- Assist in the detailed design of concrete and steel structures, including preparation of engineering calculations, analysis reports, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Participate in value‑engineering studies and propose design improvements to enhance performance, cost-efficiency, and buildability.
- Support Project Managers to achieve project completion within budget, schedule, and quality expectations through active monitoring of engineering deliverables and progress milestones.
- Address site-related design issues by reviewing contractor proposals, providing technical clarifications, and ensuring resolution aligns with approved design intent.
- Provide technical support during construction, including site inspections, troubleshooting, and verification of structural work compliance.
- Prepare, issue, and evaluate tender packages for civil and structural scope.
- Review contractor submissions, respond to technical clarifications, and provide recommendations during tender evaluation.
- Coordinate with Architectural, Process, Mechanical, Electrical, and Quantity Surveying teams to ensure seamless integration of structural requirements into overall project design and execution.
- Facilitate technical discussions to resolve design interfaces and interdependencies.
- Manage timely preparation, submission, and approval of documents required by local authorities.
- Ensure all structural designs comply with applicable regulations, codes, standards, and statutory requirements.
- Liaise with consultants, contractors, and subcontractors on technical issues, submissions, design clarifications, and construction matters.
- Ensure clear communication and documentation to support project progress.
- Remain up‑to‑date with current engineering practices, technologies, codes, and industry trends.
- Maintain technical competency through continuous learning and application of best practices.
- Perform other duties assigned by management, including support for internal audits, process improvement initiatives, proposal development, or team capability-building
Job Requirement
- Degree in Civil Engineering
- At least 10 years of design and construction experience
- Design and Construction experience preferably in industrial buildings with Precast and Long span roof trussesexperiences
- Site experience on piling works, Sub-structure and Super structure works for reinforce concrete, Steelstructures and Precast structures
- Experience working closely with Process, Mechanical and Electrical disciplines and Quantity surveyor
- Experience of liaise with consultants and contractors
- Experience with checking of shop drawings for Precast and steel structures and able to do detailed Design and work in a team and able to provide details for computer aided design team
- Element design based on codal requirements
- Knowledge of Structural design software STAAD-Pro, Prokon, Orion and etc (if any)
