Role description\:

You will be involved in various activities such as defining scope of work, scheduling tasks, updating schedules with progress, providing task completion estimates, managing technical issues, defining and updating technical risks, managing and leading configuration control including technical document efficacy and maturity.

Core Duties\:

  • Maintaining effective partnerships with a wide variety of stakeholders including suppliers, various shipyard disciplines and the MoD/RN customer community
  • Providing a technical leadership role for sub-ordinates within the team
  • Consistently demonstrate effective communication and influencing skills within a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Identifying and prioritising tasks towards an agreed overall objective
  • Innovating when defining solutions to minimise project risk and maximise likelihood of successful implementation
  • Acting as an intelligent supplier by anticipating the likely needs of the customer

Essential skills\:

  • A relevant degree in a STEM related discipline, or equivalent, or demonstration of comparable suitable working experience
  • Previous experience of operating within a technical team, and ability to provide coaching and mentoring to others within the team to support their development
  • Understanding of System Engineering design lifecycle within a Complex Engineering Environment
  • Previous experience of working in a fast paced environment and applying SME knowledge to confront challenges to keep projects/programmes on track
