Senior Engineer - HV cable
As a Senior Engineer in HV cables, you will design, install, and maintain high voltage cable systems. You will lead projects, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and safety standards. Your role includes collaborating with teams, conducting site assessments, and providing technical expertise to ensure reliable and efficient HV cable networks. Senior Engineer will provide technical leadership for the successful delivery of multi discipline projects.
- Extensive experience in the design, manufacture and test of HV cables for use in HVAC and
- Desirable - HVDC projects both onshore and offshore; including HV cable system design and ratings (CYMCAP)
- An understanding of IEC cable standards and CIGRE technical policies, its suite of technical specifications and supporting documentation, and the capability to fulfil a role as a cable expert.
- Preparation, review and validation of Technical Proposal from Transmission & Distribution projects.
- Preparation of technical documents/calculations using Cable Modelling Software 'CYMCAP'.
- System designing experience - Selection of Bonding System, Earth Continuity Cable & Co-Axial Cable, Short circuit calculations, Cable Bonding layout.
- Experience of witnessing 3rd party cable activities such as test, installation, transport etc. Attained or working towards Chartered Engineer status.
- Education - Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical discipline, preferably Electrical or Power engineering with five to ten years of experience.
