Senior Engineer - Hydraulic Modeller
We are looking for a Senior Hydraulic Modeller in Manila to deliver, check and guide hydraulic network modelling work for international projects. The role is focused on InfoWorks ICM, sewerage and urban drainage modelling, flood and spill risk assessment, development impact assessment, model maintenance and technical reporting.
The successful candidate will provide hands-on senior technical delivery while supporting junior modellers, improving consistency of outputs and strengthening Manila hydraulic modelling capability.
Key responsibilities
Hydraulic modelling delivery
· Build, update, calibrate and verify hydraulic and urban drainage models using InfoWorks ICM.
· Deliver catchment-level and local network assessments for foul, storm and combined sewer systems.
· Run model scenarios and interpret flood risk, spill risk, CSO / SWO performance, surcharge, capacity and network performance results.
· Support integrated model development, model maintenance, flow survey planning, data review and scenario testing.
· Prepare technical reports, maps, presentations, option appraisal outputs and supporting documentation.
Quality, mentoring and coordination
· Check model inputs, assumptions, outputs, calculations and technical deliverables before formal review or issue.
· Provide task guidance, mentoring and technical review feedback to junior and graduate modellers in Manila.
· Support compliance with client modelling specifications, project standards and AECOM quality processes.
· Identify data gaps, model limitations, risks and assumptions, and communicate them clearly to project leads.
· Collaborate with project managers, discipline leads, engineers, GIS specialists, survey teams and client-facing colleagues across time zones.
· Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources, Hydrology, GIS or a related discipline.
· Professional membership or progress towards chartership / recognised professional registration would be beneficial.
Essential experience:
· Strong hands-on experience in hydraulic network modelling within consultancy, utility or infrastructure environments.
· Strong proficiency in InfoWorks ICM or similar hydraulic modelling software.
· Experience in model build, verification, calibration, maintenance, scenario testing and technical reporting.
· Experience with flood and spill risk assessment, CSO / SWO assessment, development impact assessment or hydraulic asset planning.
· Ability to check technical work and explain modelling results, assumptions and limitations clearly in English.
· Ability to mentor less experienced staff and manage multiple technical priorities.
Desirable experience:
· Experience supporting UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand or other international water industry projects.
· Knowledge of UK water company, Uisce Eireann / Irish Water, Welsh MBV or comparable modelling standards.
· Experience using QGIS, ArcGIS, MapInfo, InfoAsset, AutoCAD, MicroStation, HEC-RAS, TUFLOW or Flood Modeller Pro.
· Experience preparing survey scopes, drainage area plans, integrated drainage plans, modelling guidance or standard operating procedures.
