What you’ll be doing\:
- Preparing specifications, develop Stage 1 Auxiliary System design solutions in line with specifications and all quality and technical standards
- Support and participate within the Zonal Integration process ensuring 3D model design reflects design intent and achieves compliance to relevant quality, standards and requirements
- Carrying out specialist technical analyses and investigations, including evaluation and selection of technical options, and prepare reports with suggested recommendations to support the resolution of problems and the improvement of engineering capability
- Support the Principal engineer as the specialist point of contact with customers and/or suppliers in assigned areas on engineering matters, to resolve problems and issues and to maintain awareness in both parties of priorities and objectives
Your skills and experiences\:
- Academic qualification in a STEM related subject, and ability/willingness to become recognised as Incorporated or Chartered Engineer through an appropriate recognised professional institution
- Experience within an Engineering or Defence industry or similar
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of fluid system design including flow modelling, flow calculations, use of pipes and valves as well as some of the below\:
Water Systems, including Chilled Water
Waste Management Systems
Bilge, Sullage and Ballast Systems
Scuppers, Drains and Air Escape Systems
Fuel Systems

The BAE Systems Naval Ships – Auxiliary Systems team are responsible for the design and delivery of complex warship systems. As a Senior Engineer you are responsible for undertaking a wide range of engineering activities, such as creation of Stage 1 design documentation including schematics, design calculations and technical specifications.
