Senior Engineer - Water Conveyance Engineering

The Water Conveyance Engineer (P3) will support US water conveyance projects led by Water West regional teams, delivering technically sound designs for pipelines, pump stations, force mains, and transmission systems. The role is embedded in the GCC–US delivery model, with a strong emphasis on hydraulics, constructible design, and adherence to US utility standards.

Water Conveyance Design (Core Focus)

  • Support the design of:
    • Water transmission and distribution pipelines
    • Wastewater gravity sewers and force mains
    • Pump stations and associated conveyance facilities
  • Perform hydraulic calculations for:
    • Pressurized and gravity systems
    • Pump sizing, headloss, surge screening (where applicable)
    • Fire flow, peaking factors, and system capacity checks
  • Develop and review:
    • Design memoranda and calculation packages
    • Plan/profile drawings and pipeline alignments

Hydraulic Modeling & Analysis

  • Develop and update hydraulic models using:
    • WaterGEMS / SewerGEMS / InfoWater / InfoWorks WS or ICM
  • Support:
    • Existing system evaluation
    • Conveyance upgrades and upsizing studies
    • Model scenario runs to support US decision‑making

US Standards & QA Compatibility

  • Apply US conveyance standards, including:
    • AWWA manuals and specifications
    • Ten States Standards
    • State, county, and municipal utility design criteria
  • Ensure designs align with constructability, maintenance access, and safety expectations typical of US agencies.
  • Support internal QA/QC processes and respond to US‑based review comments.

CAD, BIM & Design Coordination

  • Produce and review drawings using:
    • AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • Coordinate with CAD/BIM resources to ensure:
    • Correct pipe networks, profiles, and appurtenances
    • Compliance with US layering, symbology, and annotation standards
  • Support interdisciplinary coordination (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical).

US–GCC Delivery Collaboration

  • Work directly with US Project Engineers and Project Managers in Water West.
  • Participate in:
    • Design reviews
    • Task planning and weekly coordination calls
  • Deliver assigned packages on time and to US quality expectations.

Education

  • Bachelor’s /master’s degree in civil engineering.

Experience

  • 7-10 years of experience in water/wastewater conveyance projects.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting US municipal or utility clients.
  • Prior exposure to GCC / offshore delivery models preferred.

Required Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of:
    • Pipeline hydraulics
    • Pumping systems and force mains
    • Conveyance constructability considerations
  • Software proficiency:
    • WaterGEMS / SewerGEMS / InfoWater / InfoWorks
    • AutoCAD / Civil 3D
  • Ability to interpret and apply US codes, standards, and design guidance.

  • Clear written and verbal communication for US coordination.
  • Ability to work independently on defined tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to quality, documentation, and detail.
  • Collaborative mindset suited to US–India hybrid teams.

Preferred / Value‑Add

  • Experience with Water West utilities (California, Washington, Oregon, Arizona preferred).
  • Exposure to: Pump station layouts and P&IDs and Construction support or design‑build delivery.
