Senior Engineering Assistant, Manufacturing (MNC)

Our client is a leading MNC international product leader in the automotive industry. With a global presence in over 80 countries worldwide, they are rapidly expanding as they advance into the dynamic landscape of the automotive industry. Their Singapore office and manufacturing plant has been established for more than 25 years.
Work location: Ang Mo Kio
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8.00am - 5.30pm
- Occasional overtime support needed on weekends and PH (not frequent)
Key Responsibilities
- Support engineers in the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes to achieve operational excellence.
- Assist in new product introduction (NPI), product start-up activities, and engineering change request (ECR/ECO) implementation.
- Monitor, optimize, and sustain manufacturing processes to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency.
- Coordinate the setup, maintenance, and continuous improvement of production equipment, tooling, and fixtures.
- Support the department in achieving cost, quality, delivery, and productivity targets.
- Monitor daily production quality trends, investigate defects and process deviations, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Analyze manufacturing and quality data to identify improvement opportunities and drive process enhancements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering to resolve manufacturing issues.
- Prepare and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and engineering records in compliance with company standards.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, lean manufacturing projects, and process optimization activities.
Requirements
- Min. Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering (Triple E), Production Engineering, Chemical Process Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant manufacturing experience; candidates with 3 years of hands-on experience are preferred.
- Experience in SMT (Surface Mount Technology) or other high-volume manufacturing environments is advantageous.
