Job Description:

DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a(n) Senior Facility Engineer, located in Suzhou, Jiangsu.

The Senior Facility Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant operation of manufacturing and office facilities at the Suzhou site. This position provides technical leadership for facility systems, supports business continuity, and drives continuous improvement across utilities, infrastructure, and building services. The role offers the opportunity to directly impact site performance, safety, and sustainability while partnering closely with manufacturing, quality, EHS, and global facilities teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering oversight for facility systems including HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, compressed air, and utility systems to ensure reliable and compliant operations.

  • Manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs to support manufacturing uptime and minimize operational risk.

  • Serve as the technical subject matter expert for facility infrastructure projects, renovations, and capital improvements from design through execution and handover.

  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, corporate standards, and EHS requirements related to facilities and utilities.

  • Partner with manufacturing, quality, and EHS teams to support audits, inspections, and regulatory interactions.

  • Manage external service providers and contractors, including scope definition, performance monitoring, and cost control.

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve reliability, energy efficiency, and sustainability of facility systems.

  • Support emergency response, incident investigation, and root cause analysis related to facility systems.

  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, drawings, SOPs, and maintenance records.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Facilities, or related discipline) required.

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or Facilities Management preferred.

Experience and Skills

Required:

  • Typically 6–8 years of progressive experience in facilities engineering, maintenance, or utilities management within a manufacturing, pharmaceutical, medical device, or regulated industrial environment.

  • Strong technical knowledge of building systems, utilities, and infrastructure supporting manufacturing operations.

  • Experience managing contractors, service providers, and facilityrelated projects.

  • Working knowledge of EHS, regulatory, and compliance requirements for industrial facilities.

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across crossfunctional teams.

  • Proficiency with CMMS, technical documentation, and standard engineering tools.

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting GMP or regulated manufacturing environments.

  • Project management experience for capital or infrastructure projects.

  • Knowledge of energy management, sustainability initiatives, or reliability engineering.

  • Familiarity with global corporate facilities standards and best practices.

  • Experience working in a multinational or matrixed organization.

  • Proven problemsolving and root cause analysis skills.

Other

  • Language: Proficiency in Mandarin required; working proficiency in English preferred.

  • Travel: Limited; up to 10% domestic or regional travel as needed.

  • Certifications: Professional engineering, facilities management, or safety certifications (e.g., PMP, CFM) preferred but not required.

  • Union: Not applicable.

  • Driver’s License: Not required.
