Job Description:

DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a(n) Senior Facility Technician, located in Suzhou, Jiangsu.

The Senior Facility Technician plays a critical role in ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant facility operations at the Suzhou site. This position supports manufacturing and office operations by maintaining building systems, utilities, and infrastructure while driving preventive maintenance and continuous improvement. The role offers handson technical responsibility, exposure to regulated manufacturing environments, and the opportunity to contribute directly to business continuity, safety, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of facility systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, compressed air, and general building infrastructure in a highly regulated environment.

  • Execute and optimize preventive and corrective maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.

  • Support facilities operations in a regulated environment, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and local regulatory regulations and policies.

  • Respond to facilityrelated incidents and emergencies, providing timely technical resolution and root cause analysis.

  • Coordinate and oversee external contractors and service providers, including monitoring work quality, safety compliance, and service delivery.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and documentation in facility management systems.

  • Support energy efficiency, sustainability, and continuous improvement initiatives within facilities operations.

  • Provide technical guidance and onthejob support to junior technicians as needed.

  • Support facilities projects including but not limited to installation of new facilities equipment, support site expansion and workplace optimization projects.

Qualifications

Education

  • Technical diploma or associate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Facilities Engineering, or a related technical field required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Facilities Management preferred.

Experience and Skills

Required

  • Typically 5–8 years of handson facilities maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or regulated environment.

  • Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, utilities, and building services.

  • Experience executing preventive maintenance programs and troubleshooting complex facility systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.

  • Familiarity with safety, environmental, and compliance requirements in a manufacturing setting.

  • Ability to perform physical work, including lifting equipment and working in mechanical spaces, as required.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting medical device, pharmaceutical, or other highly regulated manufacturing facilities.

  • Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

  • Experience coordinating thirdparty vendors and service contractors.

  • Exposure to energy management, sustainability, or utility optimization initiatives.

  • Basic project support experience for small facility upgrades or improvements.

  • Experience in working in highly controlled environments like clean rooms, purified water systems and/or experience with emergency response systems (fire suppression systems, and sustainability platforms like building monitoring systems.

  • Formal emergency response training is preferred.

Other

  • Language: Proficiency in Mandarin required; basic English communication skills preferred.

  • Travel: Limited local or regional travel may be required (<10%).

  • Certifications: Relevant technical or safety certifications (e.g., electrical, HVAC, safety) preferred.
