Senior Financial Analyst, Corporate Development

The Opportunity

  • Work at the center of strategic growth: Partner with a highly acquisitive Corporate Development team and collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Investor Relations, Capital Management, and Legal
  • Drive real impact: Support Definity’s inorganic growth strategy across carriers, brokers, and new vertical markets
  • End-to-end deal exposure: Contribute across the transaction lifecycle, including deal sourcing, due diligence, financial modeling, investment materials, and integration support
  • Market insights: Track industry trends and maintain benchmarking tools to support executive decision-making
  • Strategic analysis: Deliver insights through credit analysis, KPI reporting, and ad hoc requests from senior leadership
  • Join a market leader: Definity completed 10+ acquisitions last year, including one of the largest P&C transactions in the industry

What to Expect

  • Evaluate potential acquisition targets and strategic initiatives for fit, risk, and value creation
  • Build and maintain complex financial models, including valuation, synergy analysis, and accretion/dilution
  • Support execution of acquisitions, financings, and divestitures across structuring, diligence, documentation, and integration
  • Monitor Canadian P&C industry trends; develop and maintain benchmarking databases and presentations
  • Perform credit analysis and covenant monitoring for broker investments
  • Mentor junior team members by providing guidance and technical support
  • Support broader corporate initiatives and strategic projects as required

What You Bring

  • 3-5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or related fields; experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or strategy preferred
  • Experience in financial services (insurance is an asset)
  • Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, economics, engineering, or a related field with strong academic performance
  • Progress toward or completion of a CPA, CFA, or CBV designation
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with proficiency in PowerPoint
  • Solid understanding of financial accounting and the impact of business decisions on financial statements
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels, including senior executives
  • Experience with S&P Capital IQ and/or MSA is an asset
  • Flexibility to accommodate the demands of a transaction-driven environment


Salary Range: $73,500 - $123,500
