Senior Health Science Policy Analyst

NIH's mission is to seek fundamental knowledge about the nature and behavior of living systems and the application of that knowledge to enhance health, lengthen life, and reduce illness and disability. As a Senior Health Science Policy Analyst, your duties will include, but are not limited to the following: Leads strategic planning, implementation, monitoring and assessment related to health research and science policy issues. Oversees and conducts in-depth analyses of significant scientific and social/behavioral policy issues and subject matter areas to guide a research agenda. Maintains broad authoritative and up-to-date expert knowledge of progress and current issues in high priority research areas relevant to the mission through ongoing review of the literature, attendance at scientific meetings, and participation in retreats, seminars, and conferences. Serves as a technical expert on health science planning, policy, and evaluation. Identifies and conducts extensive analysis of trends in and/or emerging or potential problems and opportunities in science policy areas that may have implications for the programs.
