Senior Human Resources Generalist

SCS Engineers is seeking a dynamic Senior Human Resources Generalist to join their Kansas City office in Overland Park, Kansas, in a hybrid role with a minimum of two days in the office each week. How you can make an impact
- Conduct employee relations matters, including investigations, documentation, and recommendations, while managing multiple cases concurrently and prioritizing workload to ensure consistent, timely, and compliant outcomes.
- Serve as the primary HR resource for employee relations execution, ensuring thorough, consistent, and compliant handling of cases.
- Make recommendations regarding employee relations outcomes, including corrective action and resolution strategies, in alignment with company policy and HR leadership direction.
- Coach leaders on employee relations matters, performance concerns, and workplace issues as part of a collaborative HR model.
- Partner with the HR Team to address organizational needs, employee concerns, and team effectiveness.
- Contribute to the delivery of guidance to managers on HR policies, procedures, and employment law, ensuring consistent application across client groups.
- Interpret and apply company policies and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Contribute to workforce planning, talent development, and retention strategies in collaboration with HRBP.
- Analyze HR data and trends; prepare insights and recommendations to support HRBP and leadership decision-making.
- Lead coordination of performance management processes, including performance reviews and merit cycles.
- Contribute to the implementation of HR programs, including employee engagement, learning, and organizational initiatives.
- Champion employee engagement initiatives, including survey facilitation, action planning, and tracking outcomes
- Guide employees through HR-related inquiries with a responsive and solutions-oriented approach.
- Provide guidance and direction to HR Generalists on HR processes and issue resolution.
- Participate in HR projects, initiatives, and cross-functional efforts.
- Maintain accurate HR documentation and ensure confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
- Must be able to work and support BU units across multiple time zones.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 6 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years of experience conducting employee relations matters (e.g., investigations, corrective actions, conflict resolution) required
- Demonstrated experience applying California employment laws and supporting employee populations across multiple states strongly preferred
- HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) preferred
- Valid driver’s license with a driving record in good standing required.
