In this dynamic role you will be:

  • Providing client-focused technical support across supported GHD technologies, applications and platforms.

  • Acting as the primary on-site IS contact across Tasmania, building strong local relationships and delivering responsive day-to-day support.

  • Diagnosing and resolving incidents and service requests to minimise disruption and maintain continuity of service.

  • Managing work effectively through the ticketing system, ensuring accurate updates, service discipline and visibility of progress.

  • Using sound judgement to prioritise competing demands, retain ownership of issues and escalate where required.

  • Supporting technology needs including end-user devices, meeting room technology, office setups, moves and local infrastructure coordination.

  • Working closely with ISHELP, Service Delivery and specialist technology teams to coordinate support and resolve more complex matters.

  • Identifying service risks, improvement opportunities and recurring issues, and contributing to better local and regional outcomes.

  • Coaching clients where appropriate to improve their use of technology and encourage effective self-service.

  • Contributing as a senior member of the regional team through knowledge sharing, peer support and participation in service improvement activities.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong ability to work independently with maturity, sound judgement, personal accountability and an ownership mindset.

  • Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, end-user computing, core hardware, meeting room technology and Microsoft 365 services.

  • Hands-on experience across hybrid identity, cloud-managed endpoints, device lifecycle activities and network connectivity fundamentals.

  • Strong organisational skills, prioritisation capability and discipline in ticket, task and service management.

  • Excellent client service, relationship-building, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage ambiguity and respond calmly under pressure.

  • Team-oriented, resilient and proactive, with a willingness to support broader regional service delivery needs.

  • Ability to self-manage, follow through on commitments and deliver outcomes with minimal supervision

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in desktop support, field services or a similar end-user technology support role.

  • Demonstrated experience working independently while supporting local and remote technology needs.

  • Experience in a professional services or similarly complex business environment would be highly regarded.

  • Experience across end-user devices, Microsoft platforms and service management processes.

  • Industry certifications such as ITIL, Microsoft or Azure certifications would be well regarded.

The ideal candidate will be mature, proactive, organised and comfortable working in a standalone site-based role, while still contributing as a senior member of a broader regional team. They must also be able to attend the office 5 days a week.
