Position Overview:
MPC has an opportunity for a highly analytical and results-driven Senior/Lead Performance Measurement Analyst within Middle Office to support performance management across the end-to-end value chain. This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, analyzing and executing the calculation, validation, and analysis of operational P&Ls across the value chain. This role ensures that performance measurements are accurately captured and attributed across the Natural Gas, NGL, & Specialties Value Chain. This role supports the Value Chain leaders and partners closely with stakeholders across the enterprise to deliver actionable insights that improve business performance. This position will also support reconciliation and bridging of Operational P&L to GAAP financial results. Middle Office is new to MPC, and this is an opportunity to help shape the Middle Office relationships and process improvements. This position is open to Findlay, OH or Denver, CO.
Key Responsibilities:
- Calculation of Operational P&L across the Natural Gas, NGL, & Specialties Value Chain
- Standardize calculations across the Natural Gas, NGL, & Specialties Value Chain
- Analyze P&L results to identify key drivers and provide detailed breakdowns of performance to support value chain understanding and decision making
- Perform reconciliations and data validations across systems and investigate and resolve discrepancies impacting P&L outputs
- Support Operational P&L bridging to GAAP
- Partner with Commercial, VCO, Trading, Scheduling, Refining, and Finance teams to ensure cross-functional collaboration and accurate representation of activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required. Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline preferred.
- Four (4) - Six (6)+ years of experience required.
- Relevant Systems Experience: Power BI, SQL, Risk Data Warehouse, Right Angle, SAP
- Prefer prior experience in Commercial, NG/NGL Marketing, Risk Oversight, or IT.
