Senior Lecturer (Level C) in Midwifery

The School of Nursing and Midwifery is one of the largest of schools within the Heath Group and Griffith University. As a Senior Lecturer (Midwifery), you will contribute to teaching, research, and academic leadership within a progressive, values-based team, supporting high-quality midwifery education and impactful research aligned to a woman-centred model of care.

As a Senior Lecturer (Midwifery) you will;

  • Teach and convene undergraduate and postgraduate midwifery courses.
  • Lead high-quality, impactful research and supervise HDR and Honours students.
  • Contribute to curriculum innovation and educational leadership in midwifery.
  • Build partnerships to enhance research, learning, and employability outcomes.
  • Support a collaborative, student-centred and values-driven academic environment.

This is a continuing, full time position primarily based at Griffith University Logan. As Griffith is a multi-site university you may be required to work across other locations.

Griffith University’s sites are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.

Salary Range
The full time equivalent base salary will be Academic Level C range $143,418 - $165,374 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $167,799 - $193,487 per annum.

To be successful in this role you will;

  • Hold unrestricted registration and license to practice as a registered midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Agency (Ahpra).
  • Possess a PhD, in midwifery or related area, with evidence of a research track record and demonstratable commitment to teaching excellence, including course coordination and curriculum development.
  • Demonstrate a strong track record in curriculum development, course coordination, and teaching excellence.
  • Have proven success in attracting competitive research grant funding and a track record of publishing high quality papers.
  • Desirable is Ahpra endorsement to prescribe as a registered midwife.
