As a Senior Manager of Cataract Surgical Sales Training, you will play a critical role in developing and empowering sales professionals supporting advanced surgical technologies within the ophthalmology space. This position combines technical expertise, leadership, and coaching to deliver impactful training programs that accelerate new hire success and strengthen field performance. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will design and facilitate engaging learning experiences while providing hands-on mentorship in clinical and customer environments. You'll help build confidence, technical proficiency, and consultative selling skills that enable sales representatives to support surgeons and healthcare professionals effectively. Accountabilities:

  • Design and deliver comprehensive onboarding and training programs covering cataract surgical technologies, product knowledge, procedural workflows, and consultative sales techniques.
  • Facilitate instructor-led classroom sessions, virtual learning experiences, hands-on wet labs, and case-based training to reinforce technical expertise and practical application.
  • Guide and mentor new sales representatives throughout their onboarding journey, providing structured coaching during their first 90 to 180 days.
  • Accompany field representatives on customer visits to demonstrate best practices in surgeon engagement, operating room protocols, and customer interactions.
  • Observe live procedures, product demonstrations, and customer engagements while providing timely coaching and performance feedback.
  • Develop individualized learning plans and monitor trainee progress to accelerate competency and field readiness.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of cataract surgical technologies, phacoemulsification systems, surgical workflows, and related clinical environments.
  • Ensure all training activities comply with applicable regulatory requirements, quality standards, and internal policies.
  • Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree required.
    • Minimum of three years of experience within the cataract surgical market, including expertise with phacoemulsification systems, product demonstrations, equipment troubleshooting, sales support, or technical training.
    • Strong understanding of cataract surgical procedures, operating room workflows, and ophthalmic technologies.
    • Excellent presentation, facilitation, coaching, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Experience developing and mentoring sales professionals or delivering structured training programs is highly preferred.
    • Proven ability to motivate, coach, and build confidence in new team members.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously.
    • Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout the United States to support field training and customer engagement activities.
    • Authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
