Senior Manager, Cybersecurity Operations

Deepwatch is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Manager, Cybersecurity Operations to establish and lead our CyberOps pod in Bangalore, India. Reporting to the VP, Global Cybersecurity Operations, this leader will play a critical role in scaling Deepwatch's global CyberOps organization by building a high-performing team focused on delivering exceptional customer outcomes across Security Operations, Detection Engineering, Threat Intelligence, and future Threat Hunting and Incident Response capabilities.
This is a player-coach leadership role. While the primary responsibility is leading, developing, and growing the India CyberOps pod, the Senior Manager will also remain operationally engaged by managing a queue of customer alerts, investigations, tickets, and escalations as business needs require. The ideal candidate enjoys balancing people leadership with hands-on technical execution, leads by example, and establishes credibility by working alongside the team.
The Senior Manager will operate within a highly collaborative, matrixed environment, partnering closely with U.S.-based leaders across SOC Delivery, Detection Engineering, Adversary Tactics & Intelligence (ATI), Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Engineering. This leader will help establish Bangalore as a strategic extension of Deepwatch's global CyberOps organization while maintaining operational consistency, customer focus, and service excellence.

Team & Operational Leadership (Player- Coach)
- Build and lead a high-performing CyberOps team in Bangalore, overseeing recruitment, onboarding, and continuous professional development.
- Conduct regular coaching, performance feedback, career development discussions, and succession planning.
- Foster a culture of accountability and excellence, partnering with the People Team on long-term workforce and succession planning.
- Lead by example, demonstrating technical excellence, managing customer alerts and escalations alongside the team to maintain customer focus and quality standards.
- Balance leadership responsibilities with direct operational contributions during periods of increased alert volume, customer escalations, staffing gaps, or major security events.
Cyber Operations Delivery
- Execute day-to-day operations across Security Ops, Detection Engineering, and Incident Response, ensuring alignment with global priorities and SLAs.
- Support Security Operations, Detection Engineering, Threat Intelligence, and future Threat Hunting and Incident Response initiatives.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality customer outcomes while meeting operational metrics, quality standards, and service-level commitments.
- Support global follow-the-sun operations and provide leadership during customer-impacting incidents.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve service quality, analyst efficiency, automation, and operational effectiveness.
Matrix Leadership

- Drive consistency in operational processes, playbooks, customer experience, and quality standards across regions.
- Share best practices and contribute to the continuous evolution of Deepwatch's global CyberOps operating model.
Operational Excellence
- Monitor operational performance through qualitative and quantitative metrics, ensuring the team consistently delivers high-quality customer outcomes.
- Leverage business intelligence, operational dashboards, and reporting to identify trends, improve productivity, and support data-driven decision-making.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, workflow optimization, analyst effectiveness, and operational scalability.
- Establish and monitor KPIs related to service quality, SLA attainment, backlog management, analyst productivity, and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure operational readiness as Deepwatch expands its CyberOps capabilities and global footprint.
- Partner with U.S. leadership to continuously improve processes, playbooks, tooling, and operational maturity across the global CyberOps organization.
Customer Experience
- Partner closely with Customer Success, SOC Delivery, Product, and Engineering teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
- Support customer escalations and ensure timely resolution of operational issues while maintaining strong customer communication.
- Develop a deep understanding of customer environments, priorities, service expectations, and business objectives.
- Promote proactive communication, transparency, and accountability across the CyberOps organization.
- Identify opportunities to improve customer outcomes through operational improvements, automation, and stronger cross-functional collaboration.
- Champion Deepwatch's Customers Are Our Core value by fostering a customer-first mindset across the India CyberOps pod.
Strategic Growth
- Help establish, scale, and mature Deepwatch's CyberOps presence in India as a strategic extension of the global CyberOps organization.
- Partner with the People Team, VP, Global CyberOps, and Managing Director, India on workforce planning, organizational design, succession planning, and future team expansion.
- Collaborate with U.S.-based leaders across SOC Delivery, Detection Engineering, ATI, Product, and Engineering to define the long-term operating model for the India CyberOps pod.
- Identify opportunities to expand capabilities across Detection Engineering, Threat Intelligence, Threat Hunting, Incident Response, Security Automation, and AI-enabled security operations.
- Support long-term strategic initiatives that strengthen Deepwatch's global operating model, improve follow-the-sun support, and enhance customer service delivery.
- Help build Bangalore into a center for cybersecurity talent by attracting, developing, and retaining world-class CyberOps professionals.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of cybersecurity experience within an MDR, MSSP, SOC, or Security Operations environment.
- 3+ years of experience leading technical cybersecurity teams in Security Operations, Detection Engineering, Threat Intelligence, Threat Hunting, or Incident Response.
- Demonstrated experience serving as both a people leader and an individual contributor in Security Operations.
- Strong hands-on experience with SOC operations, SIEM technologies, EDR platforms, incident response, threat investigations, and security operations.
- Comfortable managing operational work, including customer alerts, investigations, and ticket queues while leading a team.
- Ability to balance strategic leadership, coaching, and operational execution in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Experience operating successfully within a global, matrixed organization.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with a passion for mentoring and developing high-performing, global teams.
- Demonstrated customer-first mindset and commitment to operational excellence.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across global teams.
- Ability to work US hours occasionally
