Senior Manager-Engagement Management-Engagement Lead

  • This role combines engagement management, client relationship leadership, sales enablement, and delivery oversight with deep knowledge of data platforms, governance, and AI modernization.
  • As the client-facing lead, you will act as a trusted advisor to business and technology stakeholders, ensuring that EXL AI & data solutions deliver measurable outcomes across industries such as Insurance, Healthcare, Banking, Retail, and Emerging Markets. You will work closely with vertical (IMU) leaders, sales, and marketing to expand opportunities, shape data-driven strategies, and ensure the success of multi-agent AI platform deployments.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on data management and AI initiatives.
  • Translate client business challenges into data and AI-enabled solutions leveraging EXL AI & data solutions capabilities.
  • Build strong C-level and business sponsor relationships, influencing both technology and business strategy.
  • Lead client reviews, roadmaps, and executive presentations to ensure alignment to outcomes.
  • Ensure delivery of projects involving data migration, data governance, data quality, MDM/RDM, DataOps, lineage, and AI/ML adoption.
  • Oversee consultants, SMEs, and technical teams working on data-driven engagements.
  • Monitor progress, risks, and dependencies across data platform projects, providing clear reporting to clients.
  • Drive adoption of EXL AI & data accelerators for Unstructured data, Data Quality, Data Governance, and Data Migrations.
  • Partner with Sales and Account Teams to pursue new business opportunities in data management, modernization, and AI/ML solutions.
  • Support proposals, SOWs, and client pitches by highlighting EXL AI solutions unique value proposition.
  • Collaborate with Vertical Leads (IMUs) to design industry-specific use cases (Insurance underwriting, Healthcare payment integrity, Banking KYC/fraud, Retail personalization, etc.).
  • Contribute to deal reviews, pricing discussions, and contract negotiations.
  • Deliver compelling client presentations and demonstrations of EXL AI & data solutions and modules.
  • Work with Marketing to develop thought leadership, case studies, and industry content showcasing EXL AI & data solutions impact.
  • Represent EXL at industry events, panels, and conferences, positioning EXL solutions as a leader in Data + AI solutions.
  • Collaborate with IMUs, Solution Architects, Data Scientists, and Product Teams to ensure engagements align with client needs and platform capabilities.
  • Partner with delivery and resourcing teams to ensure skilled consultants are deployed to client programs.
  • Work closely with product engineering teams to provide client feedback on platform features and roadmap.
  • Manage engagement-level financials including revenue forecasting, invoicing, and profitability.
  • Ensure clarity for clients on data platform ROI, value realization, and cost alignment.
  • Track renewals, expansions, and cross-sell opportunities across accounts.

Core Competencies

  • Strong expertise in data management, governance, and AI/ML adoption programs.
  • Proven ability to lead client engagements in data migration, governance, MDM, lineage, or AI/analytics initiatives.
  • Ability to translate complex data and AI concepts into business value language for executives.
  • Experience in sales enablement, client presentations, and solution positioning.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work across verticals, sales, marketing, and technical delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data/Computer Science, or related field (MBA or advanced data/AI certification preferred).
  • 10+ years in client-facing consulting, engagement management, or account leadership roles.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Collibra, Alation, Informatica, Purview, Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Fabric or equivalent platforms.
  • Understanding of AI agents, LLMs, data annotation, and data-to-AI readiness frameworks is highly desirable.

    • Understanding of AI/ML lifecycle, LLMs, and agentic AI concepts.
    • Ability to position EXL AI accelerators in client conversations.
    • Knowledge of how data-to-AI readiness drives business outcomes.
  • Sales & Business Development
    • Experience supporting sales pursuits, proposals, SOWs, and deal reviews.
    • Skilled in solution positioning and storytelling for client pitches and industry presentations.
    • Experience collaborating with Vertical/IMU leaders on industry-specific use cases (Insurance underwriting, Healthcare payment integrity, Banking KYC/fraud, Retail personalization).
  • Program & Delivery Oversight
    • Strong background in project/program governance, risk management, and milestone tracking.
    • Ability to align delivery teams to contractual commitments while maintaining client satisfaction.
    • Hands-on experience in financial management — revenue forecasting, invoicing, and profitability tracking.
  • Marketing & Thought Leadership
    • Ability to represent EXL AI & data solutions at client workshops, conferences, and industry events.
    • Experience contributing to case studies, whitepapers, and thought leadership content.
