Join Valmet’s Tissue Converting Business Unit as a Senior Market & Product Intelligence Manager and become part of the Product Management team, playing a key role in leading market, product and competitive analysis activities to support business development and product strategy.
This role is focused on delivering clear, data-driven insights, with a strong emphasis on technology and product development within the tissue converting sector.
In this position, your primary focus will be on analyzing market segments, defining product specifications and evaluating competitive positioning. You will contribute to business growth by providing actionable recommendations for future product development, including technical specifications and product characteristics aligned with market needs.
The role operates within an international context, with a particular focus on Emerging Markets (Africa, Middle East and Asia Pacific), ensuring alignment between market requirements, product development and competitive dynamics.
Your role and responsibilities
As a Senior Market & Product Intelligence Manager, your responsibilities include:
Market & Product Analysis
Analyze key market segments to support growth and increase market share
Evaluate customer needs and define product specifications, performance expectations and line configurations
Provide recommendations for new product development based on market insights
Map differences between geographies and identify growth opportunities
Monitor regulations impacting the business (packaging, water usage, energy consumption, etc.)
Focus on regional priorities such as:
Product and performance needs in emerging markets (Africa, Middle East & Asia Pacific) based on Project Tracker report
Price/performance positioning of Chinese & low-cost competitors
Develop technical and detailed SWOT analysis to compare company and competitor portfolios
Competitive Intelligence
Analyze competitors using public sources (web, LinkedIn, industry publications) and internal intelligence (e.g. offers)
Develop clear insights on competitor products, technologies and value propositions
Assess price/performance levels to define competitive positioning in each market segment
Organize and structure information using corporate tools (Valona, Numera, RISI)
Consolidate data into the competitive intelligence hub
Analyze competitor financials where available to evaluate performance and positioning
Data-Driven Approach
Ensure all analyses are based on reliable data and clearly referenced sources
Clearly explain assumptions behind market estimates
Deliver structured insights and actionable recommendations for business development and product strategy
Required Experience and Qualification
We are looking for a senior professional with a strong technical background and solid experience in market and competitive analysis within the tissue converting sector.
To succeed in this role, you will have the following profile:
5 -10 years of relevant experience, ideally in the tissue industry
Strong technical background (product/technology understanding is required)
Proven experience in market analysis, competitive intelligence and product strategy
Ability to translate data into clear insights and concrete recommendations
Experience working with multiple data sources and market intelligence tools
Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills
In addition, we appreciate
Experience in the tissue converting industry or closely related sectors
Familiarity with competitive intelligence tools and data sources
Structured and analytical mindset with attention to detail
Ability to translate market insights into clearly defined product specifications, supporting concrete product development decisions across different regions
