Role/Team overview
This role provides senior strategic leadership and continuity for Marketing Operations across Sky Business during a period of maternity leave.
The focus is on setting direction and shaping the marketing operations roadmap, ensuring marketing capability is designed, governed and evolved to support long-term business objectives. The role acts as a strategic partner to Marketing, Digital and Commercial teams, guiding future state capability across channels, platforms and customer journeys, and ensuring decisions are informed by architectural thinking, regulatory requirements and a clear understanding of how marketing effectiveness can be enhanced over time.
With accountability for people leadership, roadmap direction and capability governance, the role ensures Marketing Operations remains a proactive, strategic function that enables consistency, insight and growth across the business.
What you’ll do
Lead Marketing Operations – manage FTEs and agency partners to deliver scalable, compliant marketing capability across Sky Business.
Own strategy & roadmap – define and prioritise the Marketing Operations roadmap with stakeholders, balancing value, risk, regulatory needs and delivery capacity.
Translate strategy into execution – act as senior partner to Marketing, operationalising plans across lead management, lifecycle journeys and channel delivery.
Govern compliance & platforms – own GDPR/PECR preference management and oversee marketing automation platforms, ensuring alignment with strategy and governance.
Drive end-to-end lead & data capability – partner with Sales Ops, Tech and Data to optimise lead management (scoring, attribution, reporting) and evolve CRM/data models, enabling a single source of truth and future capability.
Deliver performance & commercial impact – own reporting and insight (funnel, attribution, campaigns), sponsor new capabilities, and manage budgets, suppliers and contracts to ensure value and risk control.
What you’ll bring
Senior strategic leadership – extensive experience shaping Marketing Operations/MarTech strategy in complex B2B or regulated environments, with accountability for direction-setting.
People & transformation leadership – proven track record leading multi-disciplinary teams and agencies through change, ambiguity and competing priorities.
Platform expertise (Salesforce & automation) – strong knowledge of Sales Cloud, Marketing Cloud and automation tools; able to set platform direction, govern usage and influence roadmap decisions.
Lead management & attribution design – experience defining and evolving multi-channel lead lifecycle, scoring and attribution models to drive performance and future-state design.
Compliance & data strategy – deep understanding of GDPR, PECR and consent frameworks, embedding privacy-by-design into data models and operating practices.
Strategic design & stakeholder influence – strong analytical and operating model design capability, with the ability to shape end-to-end architecture, challenge stakeholders and balance long-term vision with near-term delivery.
