Senior Network Testing Engineer
We are hiring a mid level Network Service Test Engineer to support telecom service testing in non production environments. The role focuses on remote test execution, regression testing, and trace/log analysis, working closely with onsite teams in New Zealand who manage physical test kits and model networks.
- Execute service tests for Voice, Data, and Transport networks
- Perform regression testing and post‑execution validation
- Capture and analyse logs, traces, and protocol messages
- Identify issues, anomalies, and support defect validation
- Prepare test execution results and reports
- Coordinate with onsite test initiators for test handover and status updates
- Handle multiple test executions in parallel
You Have:
- 10+ years of experience in telecom or network service testing
- Strong understanding of Voice technologies (VoIP, SIP, VoLTE) and/or Data/Transport networks (IP, routing, switching)
- Experience working in non-production, lab, or model network environments
- Hands-on experience in log, trace, and packet analysis using tools such as Wireshark, tcpdump, or tshark
- Experience with log monitoring and observability tools such as ELK Stack, Splunk, or Grafana
- Experience in network testing and validation using vendor tools, traffic simulators, or call generators
- Familiarity with test and defect management tools such as Jira, ALM, HP QC, or equivalent
- Experience working with remote access environments including VPNs, jump hosts, and lab access tools
- Exposure to distributed or offshore delivery models and collaboration with global teams
Nice-to-have:
- Experience working with telecom operators or network equipment vendors
- Exposure to test automation or CI/CD-based testing practices
- Basic understanding of scripting or automation using Python or Shell
- Prior experience working in onsite–offshore delivery models
- Exposure to large-scale telecom testing environments across voice and data domains
