Senior Optical Engineer
As a Senior Optical Engineer, you will lead the development of ultra-compact, high-precision micro-optical systems for cutting-edge medical devices. You will transform novel optical concepts into manufacturable designs, driving innovation from prototype to production.
- Design and develop optical systems and components for medical devices.
- Conduct simulations, tolerance analyses, and experimental validations to ensure optimal performance and manufacturability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers—to integrate optical systems into complete product platforms.
- Develop and implement optical testing strategies to validate system performance and reliability.
- Analyse data from experiments and prototypes to refine and optimize optical designs.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality protocols.
- Document design processes, test results, and technical findings, and share insights to support innovation and continuous improvement.
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience
- BSc or MSc in physics, optical sciences and/or equivalent engineering field
- Knowledgable in optics simulation tools such as Zemax, Code V, Tracepro or equivalent -advantage
- Programming experience using MATLAB, Python, or similar tools
- Familiarity with the design, simulation, optimization, sensitivity and tolerance analysis of complex free space optical systems
- Strong analytical and communication skills
