Senior Platform Engineer
Mō te Tūranga | About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join our Product Engineering team within Cards and Consumer Finance. In this role, you will design, build and support secure, scalable and resilient platform infrastructure that enables our teams to deliver high quality customer experiences.
You will bring strong technical expertise along with a passion for automation, reliability and continuous improvement. This is a key role where you will influence platform strategy, support engineering excellence and help uplift our platform capability across the organisation.
Ko tō mahi | What you will do
In this role, you will:
Design, build and maintain platform solutions that are secure, reliable and cost effective
Develop infrastructure as code and build robust CI CD pipelines to support scalable delivery
Drive automation across deployments, monitoring and platform operations
Champion site reliability engineering practices to improve system performance and resilience
Partner with delivery teams to enable better platform adoption and outcomes
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across environments
Continuously improve platform processes, tools and performance
Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend enhancements
Support and mentor engineers while contributing to technical standards and best practice
Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring
You will bring a blend of technical expertise, collaboration and problem solving capability, including:
Experience working in high scale environments and applying site reliability engineering practices
Strong Linux skills and experience building automated CI CD pipelines
Proven experience with infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet or similar
Hands on experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Elastic, Splunk, Prometheus or Dynatrace
Solid understanding of networking, security and distributed systems
Knowledge of cloud platforms and security engineering practices
Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to work across teams
A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation
Experience mentoring others and contributing to a collaborative team environment
