Senior Principal Architect (AI & Platform Modernization)
- Define the target-state architecture for legacy modernization and new AI-powered systems, ensuring buildability, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
- Audit current systems, production processes, AWS architecture, and data pipelines to identify technical risks, bottlenecks, and points of failure.
- Design phased migration roadmaps that minimize business disruption while improving system reliability and delivery speed.
- Design unified cross-system architectures spanning application, integration, cloud infrastructure, analytics, and data layers.
- Evaluate how AI and LLM-based tools can improve existing workflows, particularly around analytics, database slicing, operational decision-making, and technical execution speed.
- Translate executive-level business and analytics needs into feasible technical solutions with the engineering team.
- Partner with executive leadership to make strategic trade-offs between technical idealism, business priorities, and delivery timelines.
- Provide hands-on technical mentorship and architectural oversight during implementation.
- Support distributed engineering teams by creating clarity around priorities, risks, KPIs, and execution plans.
- 8+ years of experience in software architecture, backend engineering, platform engineering, or engineering leadership.
- Proven track record delivering complex systems from architecture through production.
- Experience re-platforming or modernizing legacy technology stacks at scale.
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture, preferably AWS, including reliability, scalability, security, and failure-point analysis.
- Deep expertise in data modeling, distributed systems design, cross-system integration, and production data pipelines.
- Experience working with analytics platforms, database-driven workflows, or systems where business questions need to be translated into technical/data solutions.
- Practical understanding of AI-enabled systems and LLMs, especially how they can be applied to improve workflows, analytics, infrastructure, or engineering productivity.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both executive stakeholders and technical teams.
- Experience leading or mentoring distributed engineering teams, preferably within LATAM time zones.
- C1 English level or higher.
