This is a backfill position and we are seeking an exceptional Senior Product Manager to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our business. In this unique position, you will help establish a new Pharmaceutical division and spearhead the launch of its inaugural product. This is your opportunity to evaluate market potential, craft innovative marketing and sales strategies in collaboration with Global and local teams and bring these strategies to life through impactful execution. You will take ownership of the product P&L, adapt global marketing materials for Canada, and guide a cross-functional team to deliver a successful product launch. This role is based in our Mississauga office, where working together in person supports strong cross-functional collaboration, relationship-building, and innovation. In this role, you will:
Lead and oversee the product launch process, effectively managing cross-functional collaboration with stakeholders from Medical, Regulatory, Market Access, Commercial Excellence, Sales, Training, Finance, and Legal teams.
Develop and implement strategic plans for the new product launch, encompassing positioning, messaging, and impactful promotional campaigns.
Analyze and leverage qualitative and quantitative research to uncover actionable insights and proactively address evolving customer and market trends.
Partner with external agencies and collaborators to create compelling creative assets and marketing materials that resonate with target audiences.
Drive budget planning and allocation, ensuring the optimization of resources to achieve launch objectives efficiently and effectively.
Engage with local and global Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to foster product advocacy and establish momentum for the brand within Canada.
Monitor competitive landscapes and craft a uniquely differentiated brand proposition to stand out in the marketplace.
Take a proactive role in salesforce development, including determining appropriate size and segmentation strategies.
Equip the Sales team for success by providing training on product science, brand messaging, and competitive positioning.
Define and track KPIs to measure performance, optimize promotional channels, and maximize impact across key tactics.
Forecast sales, market share and supply, driving excellence in meeting internal targets and ensuring operational readiness.
Lead cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and alignment across marketing, sales, global teams, and operations.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
Bachelor’s Degree (Bachelor of Commerce or B.Sc)
8-10 years in Pharmaceutical industry with at least 3 years in Marketing
English fluent spoken and written, French an asset.
Travel: up to 20% National & US Travel Occasional weekend and evening work (i.e. conferences, meetings, customer events).
Computer/System Requirements: Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook), Salesforce, Major industry data programs e.g. IQVIA.
Preferred qualifications:
Advance degree e.g., MBA or MSc.
2-3 years pharmaceutical sales experience.
Eye care experience is an asset but not required.
Talented in developing strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Solid working knowledge of Canadian healthcare environment and evolving landscape.
Solid knowledge of strategic and tactical marketing principles and techniques including digital knowledge.
Ability to translate strategies into actionable and realistic marketing actions.
Aptitude with both qualitative and quantitative data to distill insights for action.
Robust ability to plan, manage and execute multiple projects with conflicting deadlines.
Salary Range: CAD $117,390 – $176,085 Annually. Actual compensation will be based on skills, experience, and qualifications.
