Senior Product Manager
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Vision
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and launch new features and enhancements
- Work closely with stakeholders and customers to gather and prioritize product requirements for your L2 use case area.
- Use market research, product usage, and competitive analysis data from the Product Marketing team to identify opportunities for innovation within your L2 use case.
- Align with your Product Lead on product priorities and the use case roadmap.
- Drive strategic thinking, focusing on long-term planning and defining product horizons.
Product Development & Execution
- Prepare for quarterly capacity planning and next-cycle planning sessions.
- Facilitate sprint backlog refinement sessions and follow up on sprint progress, ensuring software quality and requirements are met.
- Process incoming Product Ideas (PIs) and manage product feedback sessions with customers.
- Create product tracking events for new features and analyze user engagement and usage data to identify areas for improvement.
- Conduct continuous product discovery activities, including validating assumptions, testing prototypes, and managing Beta programs.
Collaboration & Communication
- Represent the product team on cross-functional teams, such as marketing, sales, and engineering.
- Build strong relationships with customers and update them on product developments to boost adoption of features and concepts in your area.
- Share subject matter expertise via articles, roadmap calls, or events (e.g., theRev).
- Participate in industry events, conferences, and online forums to stay up-to-date on trends and best practices.
Mentorship & Team Building
- Onboard and mentor new team members, providing guidance to junior product managers through regular meetings.
- Share knowledge and experience with the broader product team through workshops, SALT meetings, and internal communication platforms like AMPED groups.
Subject Matter Expertise
- Become a subject matter expert in your area, using the product to ensure it meets the quality bar and fulfills customer needs.
- Provide feedback to engineering leaders through regular one-on-one meetings.
Key Performance Outcomes
Product Strategy and Execution:
- Successfully deliver impactful product changes, such as launching new features, strategically deprecating outdated ones, and implementing several customer-driven enhancements every six months. These initiatives must be completed within your designated L2 use case area, on time, and within the allocated budget.
- Drive measurable improvements in key product metrics relevant to your L2 use case, such as user adoption, engagement, and conversion rates, by leveraging data insights and customer feedback with a focus on strategic initiatives that align with overall business objectives
- Manage the execution of the product roadmap by clearly defining and achieving key milestones and timelines, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and stakeholder expectations. Collaborate cross-functionally to identify potential hurdles and adjust plans as needed to maintain progress toward our business goals
- Deliver impactful product roadmap presentations to customers in your area that align with Showpad's overall objectives and customer needs.
Customer Focus and Innovation:
- Conduct at least 5 monthly customer interviews to gather feedback and identify opportunities
- Ensure your roadmap is contributing to resolving most business-critical customer PIs
- Engage with customers to collect feedback / validate solutions
- Integrate customer feedback early and often in the cycle to maximize business impact
- Actively monitor key innovation trends and your competition and think about how they translate to your area
- Dedicate time to experimenting with new ideas
Collaboration and Team Leadership:
- Promote collaboration and knowledge-sharing by actively engaging in team meetings with product and cross-functional teams, both in real-time and asynchronously, to ensure alignment, effective communication, and transparency.
- Mentor and guide junior product managers, helping them develop and strengthen their core skills to foster their professional growth and career progression.
- Effectively represent the product team in cross-functional and senior management meetings, keeping stakeholders informed and aligned on product updates and initiative progress
Metrics and Analysis:
- Regularly track and analyze product performance metrics (e.g., user engagement, feature usage) and provide data-driven insights to inform product decisions.
- Leverage data and market insights during the product planning process to develop compelling candidates for high-impact product features or initiatives
- Collaborate closely with the analytics team to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and generate actionable insights that drive feature prioritization and optimization within the AMPED cluster, ensuring data-backed decision-making for continuous product improvement.
- Productize data by developing intuitive features that transform user activity and use case metrics into actionable insights
Communication and Visibility:
- Turn new features and improvements into blog posts or other shareable content. Explain how these updates support customer use cases, and provide real-life examples highlighting their added value.
- Assist the product marketing and self-service teams in promoting the customer benefits of the features you are managing.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or Engineering.
- Proven experience in product management, with a track record of successfully launching and managing products through the entire development lifecycle, from ideation to launch.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify, analyze, and use data to evaluate product performance and drive product decisions.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly and persuasively articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, engineering, and customer success.
- Strong collaboration and negotiation skills, with a proven ability to influence stakeholders and secure resources.
- Proficiency in translating business requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria, ensuring alignment with customer and business needs.
- Familiarity with user experience (UX) design principles and methodologies to create intuitive and engaging products.
- Experience managing and prioritizing product roadmaps, aligning them with strategic business goals.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining quality and focus.
- Leadership skills, including the ability to coach and mentor junior product managers, fostering their growth and development.
- Experience managing and motivating teams through change, creating a positive and productive work environment.
- Strong customer-first mindset, with deep empathy for users, customers, and stakeholders.
- Conceptual understanding of software development, including what accelerates or impedes execution or performance.
