Senior Product Owner

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Product Owner based in India.

This role sits at the center of a major product transformation program focused on rebuilding a global developer portal used by enterprise logistics systems. You will act as the key link between a US-based product management team and an India-based engineering organization, ensuring seamless translation of product vision into clear, executable user stories. The position requires strong product ownership skills combined with deep technical fluency, as you will work closely with engineers and architects on API-driven and developer-focused solutions. You will lead story grooming, backlog management, and sprint-level execution coordination across a distributed team. Beyond delivery, you will play a critical communication bridge role across cultures, time zones, and ways of working. This is a high-impact position where clarity, structure, and execution discipline directly influence product success at scale.

• Lead end-to-end story grooming sessions by translating epics and features into well-defined user stories with clear, testable acceptance criteria.
• Own and maintain a prioritized product backlog aligned with program objectives and stakeholder expectations.
• Coordinate execution across distributed engineering teams, ensuring clear ownership, progress tracking, and timely resolution of blockers.
• Serve as the primary interface between US-based product managers and India-based engineering teams for scope, sequencing, and delivery alignment.
• Ensure user stories are structured in a way that supports engineering workflows, including API development and AI-assisted coding tools.
• Monitor sprint progress within defined release cycles, ensuring delivery aligns with commitments and escalation paths are clear.
• Facilitate communication across stakeholders, providing structured updates on risks, dependencies, and delivery status.
• Validate delivered features against acceptance criteria before release to ensure quality and completeness.

Requirements:

• 5–8+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager, with strong hands-on ownership of delivery (not Scrum Master or BA-only roles).
• Minimum 3 years of experience working on developer-facing products such as API platforms, developer portals, SDKs, or internal developer tools.
• Proven experience writing detailed user stories and acceptance criteria for technical and API-driven systems.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and hands-on experience with tools such as Jira or equivalent platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to run backlog grooming, sprint planning, and execution ceremonies as a core responsibility.
• Strong technical fluency with ability to engage in discussions around system architecture, APIs, and integration patterns.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to operate across cultural and organizational boundaries.
• Experience working in distributed teams across India and international stakeholders, with availability aligned to IST and partial US overlap.
